Is it unusual to find pimples around the vagina or feel them on the inside? No it is not unusual. You can get pimples wherever you have pores. Any unusual skin eruption says it is in your best interest to have a checkup. All skin problems have reason for occurrence. Pimples developing around the genital area can be due to a blocked sebaceous gland that became infected. Another reason is an ingrown hair. It`s quite easy to mistake a pimple for a boil - so be careful and avoid the temptation to squeeze. Popping a pimple whether it be a boil or not is not ideal therapy for ridding pimples. If you have already squeezed the zit, clean debris and dry the area to deter bacteria.

Because sexually transmitted infections have symptoms similar to vaginal pimples, it is wise to see your GP. Vaginal pimples are not really akin to facial ones; however process of treating and prevention is similar. If you know the causes of vaginal acne it betters the odds in preventing them. Remember it is not an abnormal ailment so you need not feel like a leper. Most recognized reason for their happening is:

Your vaginal pimples may have you embarrass over them, but they are not really an issue for concern, and certainly not one you should blush over. They are easily rid with treatment. Vaginal pimples are commonly connected to teenagers at the popular time of puberty. Nevertheless others can also be affected. Although this part of the body is not on view, it has to be treated as if it were i.e. tenderly and regularly.

If the condition is to be treated with appropriate medication - then genital warts or herpes has to be ruled out first as not being responsible. If vaginal pimples have been diagnosed it is vitally important for the vaginal surroundings kept clean and dry. Sweaty warm sites are ideal for harmful bacterium. Cleanse with gentle soap and warm water. Treatment comes mainly in oral form (tetracycline, erythromycin or tretinoin) and via a prescription issued by your doctor. In some cases birth control pills are given to regulate out of balance hormones.

Help heal vaginal pimples by wearing slacker clothing, "tight is not right," neither is it healthy. Consider swapping washing powder, as harsh detergents do not help. Acupuncture is another method used proving effective in ridding the problem. Patience is virtue, treatments do work but it can take weeks before seeing an improvement.

It helps to know the differences between vaginal pimples and other diseases if you tend on treating the condition yourself. It is best to have the advice from a person from medical practice first.

Genital warts
, caused by some types of HPV (human papilloma virus), can appear on the skin round the genitals. Normally they are seen as white or pink smooth bumps, or big fleshy cauliflower shaped lumps. They sound scary, but no time for worrying, a time for healing.

Some medical terms used for conditions are frightening and cause unnecessary stress, but remember that most, if not all, are effectively treated and cured. There are more than 100 different subtypes of HPV, and around 30 of them specifically affect the genitals. Other HPV subtypes cause warts to grow on other body parts, such as the hands. My own experience of warts on the hands - had me follow the advice of a friend which was to rid them forever. I was told to spit on my warts first thing every morning, as saliva I was told was poisonous. How gross, but I wanted rid and did as instructed. Then one morning low and behold - "no warts." I am not sure to this day was this purely coincidental, but who cares they disappeared.

Not everyone infected with HPV will see genital warts. Some will be infected with a strain that does not create warts, or they will stay asymptomatic (no warts appear) even though the virus is present or mucous membranes around the genital region or on the cervix. Warts can develop around the vulva or inside the vagina and on the cervix which can cause slight bleeding. Although rare, discharge can appear different. At any time, if a vaginal discharge shows change in texture, color or the mount you lose, seek medical attention.

Warts can cause itchiness. A regular question is, do warts hurt, not as a rule and are usually painless, however if pain is sensed it should always be checked out. If a friend offers advice and it involves you using unfamiliar treatments, ignore, even though they mean well they are not trained to diagnose, so remember this to stay healthy. Your GP is the only person you should be consulting with. If warts are suspected but not obvious to the eye, the doctor will help clarify this by applying a diluted vinegar-like solution to the infected area, this whitens the warts so they can be clearly viewed. As with any condition affecting the private parts it is not unusual to be given an internal examination of the vagina, cervix and/or anus.

Herpes simplex is an infectious viral infection. Sores appear on the face or round the genitals. Its symptoms are seen as cold sores on the mouth The infection is caused by either of two viruses, i.e. herpes simplex virus type 1 or herpes simplex virus type 2. The HSV-1 virus we connect to cold sores or fever blisters. The HSV-2 virus major of the two causes genital herpes. Both viruses are similar in look but differ in other ways. The difference shows up in the proteins on the outside of the viruses. Symptoms of herpes vary - severe or mild, so mild that it can develop unnoticed. Blister like sores is what to expect if diagnosis of genital herpes is made. These blisters are what commonly have us confuse ourselves as to what true vaginal pimples are. Herpes is not normally associated with vaginal discharge but the itchy symptom can be mistaken for a yeast infection. The immune system of a healthy person fights herpes but it cannot rid the infection.

If you are certain you have vaginal pimples, do not treat with aggression as the skin here is sensitive and tender. Be sensitive of your problem and treat tenderly.

Hi Kasey, um, I'm too embarrassed to talk to anyone about this, especially my doctor or my parents. But over the past years (about 3 or 2) I've began to take notice that my flaps or "vagina lips" have began to get tiny bumps on them(not the side or inside. On the actual top). I'm not sure if they're pimples. I don't think they are. I'm still a virgin and the only thing I've done is masturbation. So I don't know where they're coming from. I'm freaked and I was also wondering why is it purple down there? And is there anything I can do to make it go away without talking to my doctor?(The bumps)

I have the exact same thing right now and am also still a virgin. I just got over my first yeast infection (which was really bad) and am wondering if maybe a build up of yeast can cause these outbreaks or if they're common after having a period. I was just at the doctors and had no zits, but when I woke up this morning I noticed three in the same area you mentioned. I'm puzzled. I am on a detox right now and I'm wondering if my vagina is just trying to flush something out.

Hi Kim because they've been there that long then I wouldn't say its something to panic over. However you still need to know what they are. You say purple down there (where). I know when it comes to your bits it can be embarrassing to talk about, but please dont let this hold you back from getting help if this concerns you.

It sounds like the skin is irritated, but this is an assumption as its hard to say what I think it is without being able to see the bumps. Kim please dont be afraid and talk to mom. Just say "Hey mom ever had issues down below because I have" and I guarantee she'll take it from there and get things sorted for you.

Sorry I couldnt be more helpful

This is exactly what am having right now. am 39yrs mother to a 1.3yrs boy and married to a "faithful" guy. since last 2yrs, i have been fighting on this condition on my virginal lips right on the top most part of it and thought may be my hubby was seeing someone else out there. am tested many times and told not to have any STI and my hubby is clean too. I keep wondering what the hell this is and more common WHEN I HAVE A PROLONGED SEX DEAL. I mean to say when the sex drive is long than usual, i get them after 3 - 4 dayz. Could this be caused by the friction on sexing? am disappointed.

I am still a virgin but a couple months ago I did some sexual things with my then boyfriend. he said he was also a virgin but I'm not so sure. recently i found a skin colored bump on the lip of my vagina. then yesterday i found another one. i squeezed the new one but nothing came out and it hurt. when i woke up this morning they both hurt really bad. they are about the size of a large pimple and reddish with sort of a white ish tip. i Don't think its genital warts because i looked up pictures and it doesn't look like them. It cant be any other std because any other std wouldn't be possible with the stuff we did. could it be pimples? I have had one of them for a couple months and the other one appeared yesterday.

I'm a teenager (I'm not sexually active with anyone) and the other day I found a big red bump on the outer area of my vagina. I was really worried that I might be really sick. I don't know how to tell my mother whats happening. This article reassured me I wasn't extremely sick. I'm still really confused though and I'm kinda scared of going to the doctor.

Hi there,

I also have 3/4 small smooth white non sore bumps on the outside of my vagina. I am sexually active, and have recently found out my now ex was a complete sleaze ball, so i ma a little concerned. I've only just noticed them after shaving, however i don't think they are in-grown hairs as they don't seem to pop and i can't squeeze them. There spread out, not all clustered in one place, which is giving me hope it isn't something nasty.

Anyone spread any light? Many many thanks.
