Eye puffiness, wrinkles and crow`s feet round the eyes is a major concern among women, so major, they go to great lengths to remedy their problem regardless of health risks and expense. This is unfortunate because, sometimes the cure for eye puffiness and wrinkled skin is staring you right in the face. Most effective eye wrinkle treatments you may find can be concocted up using pantry ingredients. Before buying expensive beauty products which promise permanent wrinkle removal - forget it, and put your money back in your purse. Wrinkles are a part of the human body package and are not up for negotiation when it comes to permanent removal. Wrinkle treatments only smooth out the skin.

Wrinkles are a natural part of aging. With age the skin thins, becomes dry and less elastic therefore prone to skin damage i.e. wrinkles, lines and creases. Although genetics are the most significant determiner of skin texture, other reasons is over exposure of the skin to the sun`s harmful UV rays and cigarette smoking. Alcohol aside from affecting the skin in a harrowing way, it is also the cause of cirrhosis of the liver.

Skin under and around the eyes is tender, making it more sensitive to aging prematurely. One primary cause we relate to eye puffiness is tiredness. Some people do not know the right or wrong way to sleep to prevent eyes puffing up. Puffiness can be the result of fluid buildup, possibly from allergies or sinus problems. Elevation of the head at bedtime will help as it restricts fluid from filling up round the eyes. Sleeping on propped up pillows in general is not really good for body alignment but if you elevate within reason there should be no problem, however have the neck properly supported. If eye puffiness is caused by lack of sleep then to reduce the swelling you must sleep and sleep some more. Fine lines and wrinkles are not always a sign of aging, but could be a sign of damaged skin. Unlike some body parts the skin under the eyes is sensitive and thin and cries out for care. Treating the eyes with specially formulated creams or eye gel is a must to keep the eyes conditioned.

1 Since some moisturizers can plump up the skin, apply them sparingly.

2 If puffiness happened due to water retention; Pat the eyes gently to distribute fluid evenly. Cut down on salt and eat fruit i.e. bananas and grapefruit, which are natural diuretics.

3 Cold milk compresses is effective. Other solutions for eye puffiness includes sliced cucumber, borage tea, moist teabags or a mild astringent placed on the eyes for 15 minutes at the end of the day. Drink plenty of fluids (water.) Caffeine, salty foods and alcohol only compound the problem.

4 Make sure eye cosmetics are agreeable with your skin. Discard frosted eye-shadow, it accentuates puffiness.

If you suffer dark circles round the eyes, this could indicate illness or an allergy issue. Have your GP determine the cause for dark circles enveloping your eyes. Seek medical attention if eye puffiness persists as it is a condition that can rise from kidney or sinus problems.

5 If the eyes are strained and feel tired, and you work on a computer, then this could be the reason for the discomfort. Take a break every couple of hours to rest your eyes. Freshen them with cold water.

6 Spoon the eyelids. Chill two spoons in the freezer and leave for half an hour, then place them over the eyes to soothe.

Most eye treatments require an ideal location for storage. Instructions on packaging will give guidance. Some serums may have their own cooling effects. Suitable placing for most eye products is normally suggested to be stored in the lower compartment of the refrigerator. The chemist will stock a vast assortment of products for soothing tired eyes, along with concealing cosmetics, nonetheless you need to know what the best is. Read the product label. It's imperative that you follow all directions implicitly.

7 Solutions vary for reducing dark eye circles. One you can try is with the help of Vitamin E. Take a Vitamin E capsule and gently pierce it. Dab a little of the oil onto the tip of your finger and smooth gently onto the skin under the eyes. Consume left over oil with water.

8 This remedy I found which you may find beneficial for healing your problem. It is an Indian remedy for dark eye circles.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp tomato juice
  • 3-4 drops of lemon juice
  • a pinch of turmeric powder
  • white flour to make a paste
Mix ingredients into a medium-thick paste and smooth under the eyes. Leave fifteen minutes and rinse off. Dark circles should now appear lighter. It helps eye puffiness to some degree.

Eye-bags are another huge concern for men and women. These can be caused by a variety of problems. One we connect to eye bags is accumulated surplus fat in the lower eye pad. This is a regular issue as people get older. There is no true solution for the problem unless fat is surgically removed. Considerable thought should be given as it is a major decision if opting for surgery. Homeopathic treatments for eye bags work well.

Eye Alert

Are you are aware just how much damage the sun can do to the eyes if not protected like the skin. Long term effects can lead to blurred/impaired vision, headaches and blindness. Eyes need to be protected at all times because ultraviolet radiation is invisible and over exposure involves risk of developing age-related muscular degeneration. Direct sunlight has us squint hence resulting in early wrinkles. Sunglasses help prevent retinal damage. Not intentionally but some parents although protective of their child's health sadly overlook this. Eye damage usually comes to the fore with age. Also, with the state of the ozone layer and green house gasses - there has never been a better time to look after your eyes..

Sunglasses should protect the eyes from "both" UVA and UVB sunrays. UVA or UV400 = 400 nm the wavelength of UVA radiation (they should block out about 100% UVA rays). And all sunglasses block out UVB sunrays.

Sunglasses come in varied sorts and choosing what is best can prove a problem. Remember to choose wisely with safety in mind rather than the look. Buying sunglasses because they look attractive or of fabulous design, is a bad decision and one you may regret later in life.

I'm 39 and concerned about eye puffiness and dark circles. Although, my situation is unique , due to an abusive husband. Plus, I'm not getting younger. I'm all for natural remedies and eye creams and gels. I'll never have injectons or surgeries. I tried the paste it seemed to help. I'm going to try the other suggestions, I have a feeling they will work, natural wonders as they are. It makes perfect sense. I a big fan of vitamin E gel caps even for ends of the mane or scars form surgey or whatever. I know I've had two anterior cervical spinal fusions and the doctor asked what I was doing to heal my skin so quickly. Ladies, keep moisturized eat fruits and veggies daily " plus loaded with antioxidents, bonus." Avocodo mashed with cucumber fresh, does wonders inside and out and it is very soothing. Be creative and try new things all natural of coarse. My little sister was not too happy to hear her day care say, I didn't know you had a younger sister! I have had several men persures, up to 15 years younger, too young of coarse but flattering. I'm seeing a difference thats what counts, where you are comfortable? Thats what really matters and it shines through. I 'm a guilty smoker and working on it. My grandmother said to take good care of your skin and breast "you'll never look as lovlier as you do know, tiny qoute from a movie?" True story. I love the ideas and look forward to trying them. Kristine, Eastern Montana.

P. S. I'm going to try the suggestions and I'll let you know. Thanks Kacy!
