Its fact, that shaving pubic hair is just as popular as that of brushing the hair on your head. Is shaving pubic hair the "in thing to do," well this all depends. It's understandable why folk trim their pubes to keep up with the latest trend; however, never a wise "thing-to-do" if not sure about the good and bad reasons why you should or shouldn`t shave pubic hair.

Shaving pubic hair is safe as long as a steady hand is used to perform the task. Although safe, accidents can happen while shaving the private parts like causing a skin infection or cutting the flesh. Many bacteria envelop this area so a small nick more often than not will permit bacterium to enter an open wound. A popular reason for shaving pubic hair off is mainly due to personal wanting and appearance. Women as well as men, yes "man" too - want a "bikini or Speedo shave" so no loose stragglers stray beyond their knicker line. Other is, swimsuits, thongs, g-strings or skimpy trunks. Another reason perhaps is to please a sexual partner who prefers flesh baldness. There is no real health reason for shaving the genital region; even pubic lice ("crabs") require no pubis shave.

Men, if not more than women remove their pubic hair; however the biggest majority feel lost in the female dominated world of pubic hair removal. There are many solutions for removing pubic hair, however not all ideal for man as they are woman. Brazilian waxing in some waxing salons can be more expensive for men, why the extra charge for treatment is beyond me, but if the mind is allowed to wonder then we have the answer why. Waxing is something women accept as part of their beauty package, whereas men find the prospect of showing their John Thomas extremely embarrassing. The pulling of hair from the ultra sensitive skin of the testicles isn't a good idea and painful too. You may over time have seen or heard that an electric beard shaver can be used for shaving pubic hair; well you heard right, nevertheless common sense should prevail. What was created for the face is not ideal for the genitals also. There are specially devised gadgets for this. A face razor used down below without proper sterilization afterwards is very unhealthy indeed.

Shaving pubic hair can be done in quick easy steps. Still not a job to be rushed

Pubic hair styles you can consider having done - Landing strip, heart shape and triangle patch are most common. Of course personal preference prevails. There is the lightning bolt, diamond shape, star or whatever you see as a style.

Pubic Hair style meanings:

Ever thought of styling your own pubic hair, if so, then you can. Practice makes perfect when shaving but when it involves styling it can be a little more complicated, but once mastered you are away with the mixer. If you have "no" set plans for vaginal display, then no better time to take action in case you botch up. Pubic hair will grow back.

Creating your own pubic hair design - Follow instructions accordingly:

1. Let us assume you have your desired pubic hair design and an art stencil kit

2. Print the design directly onto heavy paper. If not possible use regular paper and, using scissors, cut out pattern leaving about one inch of white border round sides. Using glue coat the back of the design, be careful not to touch delicate parts with sticky gummed fingers. Once the back is glued attach it to paper and leave to dry.

3. Your first attempt at styling your own pubes should be kept simple. Complicated designs can complicate matters worse. For a simple shape use an X-acto knife to cut around the edge of the design. Use a ruler or straight edge as a guide for cutting straight lines.

4. If you prefer to use a depilatory, then you will need a laminating sheet. Peel off the protective back to reveal adhesive side, now carefully stick the stencil over pubic hair. Smooth petroleum jelly round the edges to "seal" this is done to prevent the depilatory from slithering under the stencil. Gently remove the sticky stencil. If still sticking and painful to pull then, soak off using warm water.

5. Another alternative way is to remove hair from inside the design rather than from the outside. You need much pubic mass for this. Make a larger stencil piece, take the design shape away from the middle to create a mask, and then remove the hair that shows through cut-out shape. If at any time you experience difficulty it is wise to stop what you are doing.

After time removing your pubic hair and styling gets easier - so no more " hairy scary" moments.

Kacy,

I do appreciate your articles. They are all so informative!

I do see that you failed to mention something in this one.

When using a razor not only should one be concious to clean the area before shaving and be mindful to using a clean razor, but  also; while shaving with a blade be careful not to knick any pimples, Genital Warts or other skin eruptions.

If you do knick an affecte area stop using that razor immediately and grab a new sterilized one and continue on your de-hairing process.   If you continue to use the same razor you will spread germs and virus' and cause outbreaks in other areas.
