The dreaded vaginal itch. Oh how women hate it and you can guarantee it always comes about when you`re in company. An itchy vagina is more an embarrassing problem than that of a health one. What we mean is, women know of the treatments for this and know the itch will soon go when the cause is treated, however while in waiting it is the blushes they find hard to hide if the urge to scrawb is strong. Let us make it clear that having an itchy vagina is not a condition you should embarrass yourself over and neither does it pose a threat to your health. In fact it would be abnormal if you didn`t scratch your private parts at some time. An itch can rise from a rash therefore not healthy to scratch. Not only can it be sore but if the rash is caused through infection you are likely to help it spread
What is an itch, a common question asked when a woman finds herself itching her bits.
An itch is an irritation in the skin that elicits an urge to scratch. An itch can be localized to one part of the body or happen all over. The medical term in which an itch is referred to is pruritus. An all over itch, for obvious reasons, is trickier to treat than a localized itch. Itches can happen with or without skin lesions like, bumps or blisters. An itch that is accompanied by visible skin abnormality usually should be assessed by a GP or dermatologist. Why a vaginal itch occurs can be due to many things, but in most cases the most regular reason is a vaginal infection. Not to worry it is not the end of the world. Go along to your doctor to have the condition determined so appropriate treatment to rid the infection can be given. It`s as simple as that, however should your condition be left untreated it can become a serious matter. Before making serious assumptions that you have this or that, make sure the vaginal itch is not encouraged by the clothing you wear round your genitals, yes that's right, clothes. Okay so your bum looks sexy in tight jeans and your thong even sexier, but these could be the cause of your problem. Slack cotton garments are the solution to be itch free. Cotton is just as flattering as other fabrics. Okay sexy may well be your mission, but think about it, would your partner prefer to see going to bed in cotton panties than that of with a pan scourer to scrawb
Vaginal infection: Thrush
If you're overall health is not 100%, and you suffer from stress, your body's immune system - its natural defenses against illness can decrease leaving you vulnerable and open to infection.
Antibiotics drugs we connect to infections and to the doctor prescribing them, however although supposed to kill bacteria, antibiotics also destroy the much needed good bacteria which normally keep the Candida albicans (Thrush) yeast at a low level. The actual yeast itself cannot be killed by antibiotics. It makes you think what the point. Men and women can still be infected after taking antibiotics. This is not because of the antibiotics, but because the underlying infection may itself have weakened their body's natural defenses against illness.
People suffering from out of control diabetes can see high levels of sugar in their blood and urine. The outcome is seeing the amount of sugar alter in the vaginal secretions or reduce the acidity in the vagina, which affects the ability of the body's defenses to keep the yeast under control. Candida albicans (Thrush) yeast wollow in warm moist regions, so wearing tight synthetic clothes such as nylon tights and nylon knickers will permit yeast to mass making you more prone to thrush infection. Candida albicans yeast is often carried in the digestive tract. It is vitally important after using the toilet that the vagina/anus is properly cleaned. Candida can be carried from the bowel to the vagina.
If the vulva/vagina is damaged (tissue) through heavy hand work when cleaning the genital area it can increase the chances of vaginal thrush happening. Bubble bath additives, vaginal deodorants and douches all contain chemicals which can "alter" the natural acidity. Anything that alters a natural body function is not good so avoid at all times. Whether we fight or try to prevent infection here, it is imperative that tampons be removed regular and sanitary towels changed often. Get it out of your head if think you have VD. Vaginal thrush is not a venereal disease.
Symptoms of vaginal thrush are:
-
Itching
-
Soreness
-
Vaginal discharge
Discharge caused by vaginal thrush may be much heavier and thicker than normal. Usually, it's white and curd like but does not smell unpleasant unlike bacterial vaginosis. -
Stinging when weeing
This happens when urine streams over inflamed tissues of the vulva. -
Painful intercourse
Topical treatments for vaginal thrush - creams and pessaries are applied directly onto or inside the vagina. More women prefer oral medication (fluconazole) for treating vaginal thrush.
One single oral fluconazole capsule provides the complete treatment for an attack of thrush. Fluconazole is a convenient type of medication that is not directed to be taken with food when swallowed. It also has no specific time throughout the day to be taken. This is a good thing because people tend to panic if their late taking pills and especially more so should it be the contraceptive pill. Fluconazole starts working after only two hours helping relieve thrush symptoms. Whether you have a vaginal itch, vaginal pimple or vaginal wart in or round the vagina it is best to have it checked out.
