Why is it every Christmas we do the same thing over and over again? Are our brains programmed by a chip like that of a robot which compels us to do what we do? Robotic things that are done at Christmas are strongly connected to tradition. There is no chip only the one we have on our shoulder if nothing goes right. More times than not the reason for topsy turvy mayhem is the rushing around and an unplanned Christmas. Let`s look at matters which induce us into believing we "have" to do what we do because tradition says so. Sometimes tradition is not convenient and from this we tend to persuade (programme) ourselves to fight the inconvenience and tirelessly plod on. This is unhealthy. Getting into the spirit of the festive season will never happen when under stress. What are the repetitive things a great many of us do over and over
-
We do our Christmas shopping the week before Christmas
-
We wrap Xmas gifts on Christmas Eve when the kids are in bed
-
We cook Christmas dinner on Christmas day and serve at 2pm
-
We make leftover turkey sandwiches for Boxing Day
The same old thing every yuletide and why, well simply explained because the brain tells us this is traditional so get on with it. Christmas schedules can be a health hazard and especially more so if the schedule does not fit in with yours. Christmas will be no less merry if you don`t keep up with tradition. Something to think about, "Does the day Christmas day falls on stay the same every year?" "Does snow fall every Christmas morn," although both very much a part of our Christmas and traditionally what we expect this festive time, but if the two do not uphold, it does not spoil Christmas. Slow down and make changes to make this a merry Christmas for you and your family because Christmas habits can cause pain and anguish
-
Change the day you shop
-
Serve Christmas dinner at 3pm
-
Wrap gifts another night
-
And as for the turkey who gives a stuff (what day the leftovers are eaten.)
Changes to what you have become accustomed over the years will make this a less stressful time. By all means programme yourself but only to take boring out of the equation to allow for fiddling with your happy buttons that make you smile. Now you know it`s about change let us bring laughter to your Christmas day. Remember that people can see through a robotic laugh. Giggles need to be meaningful and not designed.
Famous Quotes to make you smile and mean it
"From a commercial point of view, if Christmas did not exist it would be necessary to invent it." Katharine Whitehorn.
Shirley Temple.
Richard Lamm.
Kin Hubbard.
Johnny Carson.
Carol Nelson.
Phyllis Diller.
"The one thing women don't want to find in their stockings on Christmas morning is their husband." Joan Rivers.
Johnny Carson
We don't` need programming to receive a gift as we all know how to hold our hands out, however do you know when you open that present on Christmas morning that you should be thankful for the rest of the year. If this not be the case then you need chipping.
