Are you worried about the size of your vagina and want to know if it is either too big or small in reference to what is deemed a natural size. First ask yourself why you question yourself over this. Maybe you`re concerned because sexual intercourse is not satisfying or, maybe at some time during girlie gossip you were misled into believing you have an abnormal vagina size to that of your girlfriends.
Regardless of whatever the reason, you are not to worry. Let`s look at what size vagina is proper size. The word "proper" is not an ideal choice of word for determining vagina size because women come in all shape and sizes in body structure which therefore has us see the vagina appear this way too (different.). So how can "proper" bring closure to evaluation on what is classed as normal size, is it the fat woman`s or the skinny woman`s vagina that is proper. The only thing to do is go off assumptions of what is supposedly a normal sized vagina. If a woman has a tight vagina or a loose one there can be a reasonable explanation why it is that way and, in most cases both problems are treated, resolved or corrected with surgery. Does the size of the vagina matter; yes, if you let it. If you`re self conscious about this then it can make matters worse. Nevertheless if a loose or tight vagina is interfering with your sex life then speak with your GP.
How can you tell if your vagina is a natural assumed size? The vaginal wall is stretchy so correct sizing is never going to be sanctioned with accuracy. If the vagina is relaxed the vaginal walls give way into each other. The diameter of the vagina is smaller than one inch and the length will be around 3 to 4 inches. The vagina prepares itself for intercourse and diameter will change at this time. To help clarify, the front of the vagina is usually one and a half inches. Venturing deep into the vagina shows enlargement and as you further in, the more you will see the diameter get bigger. The rear end is normally a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The front vaginal wall has the length of two inches and the rear end is 3 so when you tally this up we get six inches in total.
A regular reason for vaginal looseness is when a woman gives birth. Not every woman will suffer this, but them that do is because of the vagina stretching through intense expansion brought on by delivery trauma. If you haven`t had children then it`s unlikely your vagina will loosen. Childbirth is well connected to vaginal looseness because it can affect dimensions, for instance: damaging the muscles and other supporting tissues of the vaginal walls.
If the vaginal 'barrel' feels big it can cause dissatisfaction in the bedroom and lax muscles and ligaments which can result in a prolapsed womb. To help tighten a loose vagina you can do pelvic floor muscle exercises. Discuss the possibility of a 'repair' operation with your doctor.
Vaginal tightening - Vaginoplasty. For women who've given birth, vaginal muscles tend to expand during birthing; the outcome can often be weak, loose, vaginal muscles. Even though Kegel excises are suggested to help with this problem they are not 100% for true tightening. Vaginoplasty betters the tone of the vagina by tightening the vaginal muscles and surrounding tissues.
This procedure tones vaginal muscle. The success rates are quite high for perfecting a loose vagina to a slight tighter. The outcome results in greater strength, contraction, and control. Vaginoplasty is a standard surgical procedure. The stretched muscle to the rear of the vagina is attached together and shortened with dissolvable stitches, and excess skin is removed. This tightens vaginal muscles and nearby soft tissues, by reducing surplus vaginal lining. Vaginal tightening is performed under general anaesthetic or local anaesthetic with sedation, and takes about an hour, and may require an overnight stay in hospital/clinic. This is normal as with most surgeries so the patient can be monitored.
The list is high for the women waiting to undergo Vaginoplasty and also high for the women who query about the pain involved. The patient will not feel pain because they`ll be sedated or put out altogether, so the possibility of pain while surgery is actually carried out is zilch; however you can expect soreness and swelling once the op is over.
After the operation, you are normally able to walk comfortably within a few days and return to sexual activities within 4-6 weeks and not before. Doing other than what your GP suggests can lead to serious complications occurring from you being impatient. Recovery from surgery is quite quick. Women normally resume work after a week, of course depending on the individual and that surgery went well.
We have just looked at the way of tightening a loose vagina and now we turn our attention to loosening a tight one.
The vagina is an organ of the body more unique in a funny sort of way - how it is small enough to tighten around a finger and large enough to allow for childbirth! Nonetheless, some women do experience vaginal tightness during sex, in which they feel "too small" to allow for comfortable penetration. This can usually be allayed with plenty of foreplay or lubrication. Of course, remember what works for one person may not for the other so keep this in mind when trying out new options and solutions. If you have tried both of the above mentioned and still experiencing discomfort you could be suffering from vaginismus - involuntary muscle spasms in the first third of the vagina that make penetration either impossible or seriously painful. Vaginismus is normally caused by a mixture of factors, including possible sexual trauma (sexual abuse) and vaginal infections that have inflamed the vagina. It is a trained reaction, meaning that as time progresses women with vaginismus will relate pain with intercourse, subconsciously causing vaginal spasms to occur.
If there are no physical issues responsible for the pain then behavioral treatments may help. Weighted vaginal exercisers can be helpful in treating pain during sex.
If vaginal tightness is associated to vaginal dryness then lubrication is the best method to adopt for helping. Vaginal dryness is common in women during and after menopause, although inadequate vaginal lubrication can occur at any age. Symptoms of vaginal dryness include itching and stinging around the vaginal opening and in the lower third of the vagina. A thin layer of moisture coats the vaginal walls. Hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle and as you age affect the amount and consistency of this moisture.
Factors that also contribute to a dry vagina are intercourse, excessive use of condoms or tampons, intake of certain medications, chemotherapy, douches and stress. Douching should never be done unless under orders from your GP. A dry vagina indicates a drop in the level of the female sex hormone, estrogen that helps maintain acidity, lubricates the vagina, maintains its elasticity and safeguards it against infection.
Dip a cotton pad in sesame oil and gently rub vaginal walls. Do this daily for about a week to restore lubrication.
Black Cohosh is a Native American herb that is widely recommended for treating vaginal dryness. It can be used in the form of tea or as a dietary supplement.
Aloe Vera gel is a multipurpose herb known for its moisturizing qualities and helps keep the female reproductive organs in good health.
Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily to help with vaginal dryness. Water helps flush out the harmful toxins in the body and helps keep you hydrated.
Did you know when you treat your own vaginal infection you rid vaginal odour at the same time.
