Are you worried that you might be pregnant? Or in contrast, ecstatic over the idea of expecting a baby but not sure how to tell for sure that there is pregnancy present? Well particular symptoms of pregnancy will certainly help clarify if you are. A proper prognosis will either have you still worry, or celebrate. Ways to tell if you`re pregnant does not include you undergoing surgery or anything like that. Most women on receiving confirmation of their pregnancy will no doubt seek medical help for all the right reasons to ensure a safe delivery of a healthy baby, however, we then have the pregnant woman who doesn`t.
Women can experience early pregnancy symptoms in the week before their menstrual cycle? Implantation usually occurs within 8-10 days of ovulation. At this point the body reacts to Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG,) the pregnancy hormone. This hormone is the one a pregnancy test will detect in a positive result. HCG levels can rise quite quickly which cause early pregnancy symptoms. While the baby grows inside the womb the female body will see major changes and this is natural and nothing to worry over - of course depending on the type of changes. No two women really ever carry a baby the same so therefore if some other woman gives you advice on their pregnancy and their experiences, this is not enough for you to assume their happenings will affect you, and that the treatments they may have used, is for you.
Symptoms of pregnancy and ways of telling your pregnant
- Missing a period is one symptom strongly connected to pregnancy
- Tender sore breasts – Breast changes usually occur in the first trimester (week 1 up to week 12) because the body starts to make tissue for producing and storing breast milk.
- Some women who endure fatigue in early months of pregnancy suffer this dually because of these changes, which upset her energy levels. If you feel tired (exhausted,) this could indicate anemia - see your midwife or doctor.
- Another symptom of pregnancy has you want to urinate frequently. This feeling can get stronger as the growing baby rests on the bladder. While expecting a baby you`re more at risk of developing a urinary tract infection. The word risk is used because pregnancy hormones and the growing womb can slow down urination processes from happening. If you experience symptoms of a urinary tract infection (pain or burning when weeing) call into see your GP or midwife.
- Aside from a missed period another common symptom of pregnancy is morning sickness. Morning sickness can happen during the day and at night. It is normally around the the14th week of pregnancy when this begins to ease and hopefully stop. In between this time eat small meals regularly so that you don't get hungry which may help with vomiting.
- Constipation – Sometimes the bowels tend not to work as they should because pregnancy hormones have a way of relaxing body muscles. The digestive system absorbs more water from the food we eat resulting in hardened faeces which are difficult to pass. Drink plenty of liquids and eat plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables. High-fibre foods such as cereals will help loosen the bowels.
- A growing womb, placenta and amniotic fluid
- Growing breasts
- Rise in blood circulation
- Water retention and fat stores
2. Heartburn – Although not a serious symptom of pregnancy, it is one of much discomfort. Pregnancy hormones are accountable for heartburn because they relax the end of the pregnant woman`s food pipe (oesophagus) which causes acid from the stomach to pass back up into her oesophagus. It may help to eat often, but less in quantity.
3. Quite common in pregnant women is the swollen ankles, feet and hands (oedema.) Reason for this is chiefly due to the body keeping more fluid and carrying excess blood. These symptoms can be serious if caused by pre-eclampsia.
What to do now that you know you`re pregnant? If you feel lost, don`t be as there is plenty of help for expectant moms. After your pregnancy test has returned a positive reading, you should take a moment to consider how this makes you feel. Once you have adjusted to the news then tell your partner as soon as, if there is one. You and your partner are going to have to make decisions in relation to the baby and it`s upbringing. Some expectant couples like to wait until they are out of the first trimester before telling friends and family of their pregnancy, but of course it is up to you when you want to share your good news.
Evaluating your status and ability to support the baby financially soon after finding out you are pregnant is vitally essential because it gives you almost 9 months to prepare financially. This is very important because everything involving raising a baby can be expensive indeed and never ending. Even when they are raised to an age when it`s time to fly the nest, it is just as expensive "Mark my words."

More commentsHi my girlfriend and i have mess around , she missed her period for a week does this meen shes prego? Pleas helpppHi Mark unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy. However I would give it a little more time to see if her period shows before you start panicking if this is something you don't want at this minute. Tell her to try not to worry as this can delay menstruation. Instead of waiting around you could ask her to do a pregnancy test to know for sure. Sorry I couldn't be mofre helpful
