Sun Damaged Brittle Dry Hair – Summer is a season that brings out the best in us all in many ways, however as much as we folk may love the sunny days where the sunshine beams down on us, I am afraid to say it is not good for the hair, that is unless it is treated or protected accordingly to the way suggested by the experts in the field of hair care. Damaged brittle dry hair is normally always the result of over exposure to immense scorching heat. Think about all those times you took the necessary precautions to protect your skin because you knew of the dangers the sun could cause. And because of your awareness about the health risks involved, you would smother your body with a sun protection cream to prevent it from burning and becoming dry. Well this should apply to the head also because scalp skin burns and dries out to. You shouldn`t ignore the scalp just because you can`t see it. This should give you more reason to check it out from time to time. The scalp is the foundation for hair roots so what else can you expect of your hair, other than being dry and brittle when unprotected from the sun?

What can you do, and with what can you treat your sun-damaged dry hair with. There are several methods you can practice along with different hair care products to use which are specially formulated to bring hair back to life after taking a knock as such (burnt and dried out.)

Your main priority first is to deep condition the damaged hair. Put back the moisture that`s been sucked out. Conditioners that contain keratin, jojoba oil, and other hair strengthener moisturizers are ideal. To deep condition dry hair, wear a shower hat and cover with a towel; this uses the heat from your head to help products penetrate. Penetration is much needed to get at the roots. To liven up your hair use a hot oil hair treatment. Follow instructions as suggested on packaging.

Protect your hair if you have a session down in the swimming baths. Chlorine is not good for the tresses, but not a serious issue either if it is affected by chlorine, other than display am embarrassing green cast. Special products that wash out and remove chlorine can be found at the beauty counter in the chemist shop. You can also purchase hair care products online which may be more convenient if you need to read up on the properties included with particular hair care items. Another alternative is to speak to a hair stylist who will no doubt have the solution for treating this.

Avoid using hair color products that contain metallic salts. If the thought of chlorine is troubling you then try wetting your hair before you go swimming--it'll absorb less chlorine. Since chlorine is copper-rich bleach, rinsing with Club soda after a swim helps remove it. Practice these methods to save you time and money as well as keeping the hair healthy.

If you regularly use colorant on your hair, then you`ll notice how the sun can quickly fade the shade. Although different home remedies have proven to do the job they are supposed to do on others - does not mean they will work for you, what it means is to be careful and cautious. If you tend on trying out new systems then get an expert opinion. Some women apply lemon juice or honey before sun bathing to intentionally get highlights. This is not really ideal because it only encourages dryness. If your hair is vastly dry and porous, it can really snatch color and come out a lot deeper, so if you're coloring at home, do a test strand first. If your hair or ends grab color fast, choose a lighter product tint or deep condition for a about a fortnight before coloring and strand test again. I know of many women that choose to ignore doing the strand test. This is not advisable as it can cause a series of complications. A strand test is a safety measure to protect you, so protect yourself by doing this.

Sun-damaged dry brittle hair as we know is caused by heat of the sun, which more times than not fades hair color too. Because of this we now see a head of drab dull looking hair. To give the hair a vibrant sheen - condition thoroughly to seal the cuticle and rinse with a solution of vinegar and water. You can also apply a clear glosser, which urges shine without altering your hair color. There are many dos and don'ts you should adhere to if you want to have bouncing healthy shiny hair.

Particular products you should avoid are neutral henna-it dries hair and some henna products even though popular, are known to create a green cast like chlorine does, even if they're neutral, because they contain metallic salts. For a lasting and final glossy finish, look towards pomades and silicone sprays.

You need to nourish the scalp and feed the skin with protein. This will give the hair that natural spring. Hair product ingredients should include wheat germ protein or keratin. Remember to take extra care when combing and brushing as more damage is done to the hair by pulling to untangle knots or just in general straightening of it.

For or quick fix shine, good look and bounce, enquire about reconstructing treatments offered in certain hairdressers. Don't go mad with proteins because it can make hair more brittle? Too much can be too bad. Fragile hair is easily damaged. If you usually style your hair by heat styling then consider another style for the time being giving your hair a break. Your hair will benefit if permitted to dry naturally. If you are a blow dry freak then make a change to your normal routine, blow dry on high heat. It is said that this does more damage to the hair, but logically if you think about it, you are only exposing your hair to heat for only a short period. Hand held hair dryers should be held at a safe distance. Closer to the head doesn't quicken up the drying process.

Dead hair at the ends should be cut away. A neat trim will put the shape back in your hair cut. To prevent sun-damaged dry brittle hair happening there are things you can do. Some women start as they mean to go on, but don`t, and forget the importance of keeping up with a hair care protection plan. Use styling aids that contain UV protectors and anti-oxidants.  The be all and end all of sun protection for the head is, to wear a hat. You can get some fabulous stylishly designed beach hats and day hats if out strolling. So there is no excuse not to wear one. Coat your hair with oil, like Phyto-Plage, which is specially created for sun protection. Best way to treat dry, sun-damaged hair that has been subject to the hot sun, sand, gels, mousses, hair dyes, blow-drying, straight-ironing, is to have patience and endorse the right hair care treatment. For to succeed in getting hair back to a healthy condition you have to be committed to do what it takes no matter how long.

First step is to get your hair stylist to trim the ends -if you don`t split ends will travel further up the hair shaft and your hair will never improve.

We have established one of the primary causes for dry hair developing and that being the sun. So therefore you need to either protect your hair from the scorching heat or stay out of it. If not then you will always be referred to by others as the girl with the pretty face but dull drab looking hair.

Flaky dead dry skin falling from the scalp could be dandruff or that of a skin condition called psoriasis. There are several effective treatments for these problems. Kill two birds with one stone and treat your sun damaged dry brittle hair along with your dry scalp skin.

I have always bleached and coloured and permed my hair and the best treatment ever is pure unrefined shea butter. I leave it on my hair for 2hrs then shampoo off and condition with regular shampoo and it's like brand new. Amazing and totally natural.
