Vaginal Odor - How can I make my vagina smell nice because as it is, I am not too happy with what is supposedly supposed to be a natural odor. We get this question all the time from women who want to fruit up their vagina so as to speak. The sheer thought of this is ludicrous and needs to be rid completely from your mind. What you smell is natural, and whatever you do, or use to disguise this is "not natural." Yes by all means you can freshen up the vagina but wanting it to smell perfumed like roses or whatever, then I suggest you forget it. Okay, if a sour/rancid type smell is present and caused by infection or other, then yes treat it accordingly to remove the bad smell but leave the vagina with its dignity the way nature intended.

Let us look at the reasons that could be causing bad vaginal odors.

Urine: The urethra is positioned well for odor to happen here. If the urine is strong the scent can linger becoming stale making the pee smell very pungent. And that can easily be misconstrued as vaginal odor. Getting to the root cause of why your pee is as strong will help you seek out the right treatment and rid the odor. Particular foods and beverages can cause urine to smell strong such as coffee, tea, spices, asparagus, beets and curry are a few to mention. Remember what is taken in through the mouth has to pass out the other end.

Sweat: If you have sweaty genitals then this can give rise to smell. Freshen up during the day using non-scented baby wipes. These can be purchased in travel size which fits nicely into your handbag. If you do this regular throughout the day you will prevent sweat build up. To help minimize any odor rising from either urine or the sweaty genital issue you could consider doing what most other women do, and that is to shave their pubic hair. This option is not for everyone, but for those that it is, have said it helped enormously with dealing with their smelly vagina.

It is important that I clear up the confusion involving the vagina, and that is, it does "not smell fishy." The vagina is in fact an odorless organ of the body, and also a self cleaning one too. Any experiences of vaginal smells come from other factors like those pointed out above, or other again. Even though odorless, the vagina does have a little tint of smell, and this is natural, as it is with most other parts of the body too. The fishy odor we link to the bacterial vaginosis infection.

Bacterial vaginosis is a disorder of the vagina caused by an overgrowth of different bacteria. Most recognized symptom of BV is a vaginal discharge. The discharge is normally white-grey color, and brings the fishy smell that we blame the vagina for smelling of. The discharge tends to be heaviest just after a period, and after having sexual intercourse.

Unlike other vaginal infections, the discharge of BV does not usually cause itch or soreness around the vagina and vulva.

If you`re thinking of sweetening up the vagina then this is an unhealthy move, the vagina is not designed to smell of roses. Using deodorants to try and normalize abnormal odor that is if it is abnormal is not a good idea. You have to be certain you do not have an infection that is causing the smell. Using smellies on your private parts can add to your problem, causing itch, burning or genital stinging. The vagina needs nothing more than warm water and a mild non-scented soap for cleaning.

The natural smell of a woman's vagina is supposed to be erotic and a turn-on for men so bear this mind before you start spraying. It only takes the natural smell of the vagina to seduce any red hot blooded male.

The scent of a woman is designed to attract the male species. Just think logically and you will understand how important it is to leave the vagina alone. Just think dog and bitch. When did you ever see the bitch spraying her genitals? Do you think the bitch when on heat would have as many dogs hunt her down if her scent was scented?
