Why put up with vaginal pain, in saying that why put up with pain from other body parts full stop when there are treatments available that ease soothe and rid pain completely. The primary reason why women tolerate vaginal pain is due to embarrassment. A painful vagina can cause so much misery which is easily diminished in minutes if you seek help. Save on the blushes and get your problem treated because if it is an infection then it is not going to go away. Vaginal pain can happen for many reasons, and it is the reasons we need to look for so proper care and treatment is given to relieve pain and cure the condition if one has been diagnosed.

Minor vaginal acne (vaginal pimples) can cause pain, depending on severity. Boils is also another issue and especially if they locate in a spot on the body where skin is frequently rubbing against other fleshy parts, or clothing touching the actual boils. If you`re sure vaginal acne has nothing to do with the vaginal pain you are experiencing then we need to look towards the more common reasons. Finding the root cause behind the paining around you`re private parts will help tremendously for treatment to be a success, and that the particular cause determined is prevented from returning at a later date. A vaginal rash can have you suffer pain around the vagina. Genital rash is normally encouraged by tight clothing, sweating and poor hygiene.

The vagina is made up of many components and has its own chemical balance which can be easily disrupted. If the lining of the vagina becomes inflamed, the condition is known as vaginitis. And we all know when something is inflamed it darn well hurts.

We have several different sorts of vaginitis that could be causing you discomfort or responsible for the actual vagina pain.

Non-infectious vaginitis means vaginal inflammation brought about by chemical irritants or allergies.

The above named are a few to mention that can seriously irritate the vaginal lining. Irritation is the chief culprit for bringing itchiness, where we tend to scratch to relieve the itch. Scratching can easily cause tearing of the skin which results in pain. And this could be your problem.

Atrophic vaginitis we link to women nearing the menopause. It results from lower hormone (estrogen) levels that cause thinning of the vaginal lining. When the lining is weakened you can expect many things to rise from this, and pain being one if infection or other happens because the lining protects the vagina. Also vaginal dryness becomes a serious matter for women if Atrophic vaginitis is diagnosed. Issues on this condition continue below.

Infectious vaginitis happens through infection with bacteria or yeast. Trichomoniasis a vastly common infection associated with sexual transmission. Other sorts of vaginal infections happen when a woman has an abnormal passage - called a fistula - connecting the intestine to the vagina. Because of this, risk of infection is high because faeces can pass through to the vaginal area.

Bacterial vaginosis may be due to an imbalance between usual bacteria that protect the vagina and threatening infectious ones. Using intrauterine devices or having more than 2 or 3 sexual partners can cause a bacterial imbalance. Infectious bacteria and trichomoniasis are often sexually transmitted. Of course we also have specific STDs which bring vaginal pain. Specific pain can occur through sores that may have developed and scabbed over from a sexually transmitted disease.

Familiar symptoms of vaginitis we recognize in women can include discharge, smell, irritation and maybe vaginal itching. Symptoms are not always seen even if a bacterial infection is present. Bacterial vaginitis causes genital itching and burning, and oozes a whitish discharge which smells fishy.

Symptoms of trichomoniasis can be severe to mild, so mild you may not notice you have the infection at all. Vaginal soreness is expected with this condition so this could explain the vaginal pain you complain of. We relate Trich to being a sexually transmitted disease and if you`re sure this could not possibly be the case for you then we can rule out this infection. Having said that get your GP to confirm this. Trichomoniasis discharge comes heavy and clearly shows up a yellowy-green or grey with an unpleasant smell.

Yeast infections bring vaginal itching and painful experiences when weeing. The labia become tender and sensitive making it sore and sometimes swollen. Discharge is thick in consistency and whitish with an offensive odor

Back to atrophic vaginitis which we mentioned earlier. This particular type of vaginitis causes major discomfort for women through vaginal dryness that derives from it. It is an extremely painful condition to have at the time of sexual intercourse.

What is atrophic vaginitis?

Surrounding skin/tissues around the vagina are kept agile and moist by fluids and mucus that are made by glands at the neck of the womb. The female hormone Oestrogen affects these glands and vaginal tissues causing vaginal lining to thicken and become stretchy.  Oestrogen stimulates the cells that line the vagina to make glycogen, a protein which spurs on good bacteria which protects the vagina from infection. After the menopause the ovaries make less oestrogen – resulting in thinning of vaginal tissues and a reduction in the number of small glands that make mucus. Fat tissue around the genitals is sometimes lost at this time. The outcome is seeing the vagina becoming shorter, less stretchy, and dryer due to less lubricating mucus.

Women because of this may experience pain during sexual intercourse because the vagina is smaller and drier. The skin around the vagina is likely to be irritated also. General soreness or inflammation to the vulva or vagina is usual. Sometimes discharge and infection will appear or happen. Itching can happen, mostly because the vaginal area is now quite sensitive in comparison with the time prior to menopause.

Because the problem is mainly due to a lack of oestrogen, it can be helped by replacing the oestrogen in the tissues. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) consists of oestrogen. It comes in tablets, gel, implants or patches. Oestrogen creams are sometimes prescribed. Particular treatments will vary for each patient due to different types of conditions.  Medicinal creams formulated for this purpose puts oestrogen back into the vagina and vaginal tissues without giving oestrogen to the whole body. If vaginal dryness is the initial health concern, and hormone creams have not been suggested by your GP for whatever the reason, lubricating gels may help. There are several gels solely designed to help the problem of vaginal dryness by replacing moisture.

Whatever is causing your vaginal pain has to be checked out. It is easy to read about something to get a clearer picture about what could be the cause of your suffering. Causes have to be dealt with and treated because words written down don`t cure.

Did you know when you treat your own vaginal infection you rid vaginal odour at the same time.
