So you think you have vaginal pimples and here looking for advice to see if they can be treated and removed. Can you be sure it is definitely pimples and not warts you have? Can you be sure they are not vaginal lumps or bumps? If you`re not sure then you have to have them looked at by your GP. It is better to be safe than sorry because particular STDs can cause similar symptoms of what it is you`re not sure about.
Let us get it clear, even if you do have vaginal pimples or other, it does not mean you`re abnormal in any way shape or form. Genital acne is common and treated on a wide scale. Skin disorders whether linked to the vagina or not don`t usually happen without reason. Pimple growth can be caused by an infected blocked sebaceous gland. An ingrown hair can be held accountable for pimple sightings also.
We can`t evade the fact that pimples can come with sexually transmitted disease. STDs are a serious matter and a doctor`s appointment should be made as early as possible. I am not saying you`re pimples are a result of a venereal disease; I am simply saying that certain diseases as such have similar symptoms to other women`s infections. And you can`t be too careful these days when you see the number of patients waiting for treatment in GUM clinics.
Common causes of vaginal pimples are:
- Infected pores (bacteria)
- Overactive sebaceous glands
- Hormonal changes
- Tight clothes around the crotch
Whatever treatment/method you have considered using, it must not be used until you`re absolutely sure it is not genital warts or herpes.
If we are sure it is vaginal pimples then keep the area cool dry and airy. Strip off the panties at every possible convenience to give the genitals breathing space. Harmful bacterium love to nestle in sites warm and clammy. Bathe the vagina or exact infected spot with a non-scented soap and warm water, however, it is best you do the sensible thing and speak to your doctor about the best way to clear up vaginal pimples. He/she will normally prescribe oral medicine (tetracycline, erythromycin or tretinoin.) The birth control pill maybe suggested as an option for helping to regulate out of balance hormones. In most cases of young girls/women who have a problem with erratic periods, the birth control pill is given to help stabilize them.
- Loosen clothes around the genitals. If clothes are permitted to rub the pimples it can turn nasty bringing a vaginal rash.
- Avoid washing detergents containing harsh substances
- Bathe regular in hot weather or when you feel it is necessary
- Change underwear frequently
Genital warts rise from the human papilloma virus which commonly affects genital skin. Usual warts are white and usually pink and to touch they feel like smooth bumps. They can also be large and fleshy resembling the look of a cauliflower. There are over 100 different subtypes of HPV, and thirty of them we link to the genitals. Not all patients with HPV have a show of actual warts. In women they develop mainly around the vulva or inside the vagina. If the cervix is affected then slight bleeding can occur. Genital warts are normally painless but do cause itchiness at times.
Herpes simplex virus type 2 is the virus linked to the genitals and HSV- type 1 to cold sores. Both viruses are akin in appearance; however they act differently in their ways. Variance shows in the proteins on the exterior of the viruses. Pain can come fast and furious with severe genital herpes. Most discomfort from the disease usually derives from the blister like sores. With herpes we don`t normally have an issue with vaginal discharge. To keep our bodies healthy we depend on our immune system to protect us from and fight infection but unfortunately herpes stays in the body for life. The symptom of itchiness that happens with herpes is easily confused with a yeast infection so clarification of your condition needs to be medically confirmed.
It will help to look back on things you have done of late, in case you have encouraged vaginal pimples to happen. Ask yourself:
- Have you changed your washing powder?
- Have you borrowed clothes off a friend? Not saying your friend has a problem or her clothes are "unclean," but they could have been washed in a particular substance not agreeable to your skin type.
- Have you lately started using a new beauty product specifically designed for the vagina? Even though products are solely created for this body part, it does not mean that your skin can not react to it.
- Have you been run down?
- Have you recently shaved your pubic hair because if so, it is a possibility you have razor bumps.
If you have discontinued using, or doing the things that you believed could have caused your vaginal pimples and they still persist then seek medical attention. It is the only positive option you have left for curing them.
Did you know when you treat your own vaginal infection you rid vaginal odour at the same time.
