Hey girls how much do you know about the beauty products you use in an attempt, yes an attempt to look beautiful. I use the word attempt because of the amount of women oblivious to particular brands of cosmetics in their makeup bag that make it hard to achieve the pretty gorgeous look. Unworthy cosmetics that don`t live up to their promise or their sole purpose - do serious damage. Did you know over time in relation to specific ingredients in makeup, can actually take the beautiful swan image turning it back into creating one of the ugly duckling, courtesy of bad beauty items? Just because expensive brands of cosmetics fill the makeup purse, it is no assurance they won`t cause havoc with the skin, or your overall health due to their damaging properties.
Let us look at the types of cosmetics we use on a daily basis. The ladies, oh and men too love to smell nice and because of this it is most likely a bottle or maybe two of perfume or aftershaves are found in the bathroom cabinet.
Fragrances and preservatives are the chief ingredients in cosmetics and a regular cause of skin issues. Over 5,000 various sorts are used in creating these products. Next time you purchase scent go for products labeled fragrance-free or without perfume it means no fragrances have been included in their making.
Preservatives in cosmetics trail behind fragrances as the second biggest cause of skin problems (irritation and infections.)
Why cosmetics is so popular is they are fun and with them you can transform, and not forgetting the main reason for their use (cleansing and changing appearance.)
Cosmetic products include:
- Skincare creams
- Beauty Lotions
- Perfume/Scents
- Lipstick
- Nail Varnish
- Eye Shadow
- Face Foundation
- Permanent Waves
- Hair Colorant/Dyes
- Toothpaste
- Antiperspirant/Deodorants
While many cosmetics are safe to use we have just as many that are not. Serious problems from cosmetics are rare. But if they do occur they then become "severely" serious.
1. One regular injury caused by cosmetics - concerns the eyes. It only takes one slip with the mascara stick to do damage. Eye infections can happen if the skin of the eyeball itself is torn. Infections can lead to ulcers on the cornea, loss of lashes, blurriness and blindness. Never rush the process of coating the eyelashes with mascara.
2. Do not share makeup. Bacteria spreads through using another`s brushes. Avoid using someone elses lipstick to prevent cold sores. A vast majority of women admitted to moistening their makeup brushes with saliva. A spit and polish skin solution is not good. Saliva first thing in the morning is poisonous so be wary. Wash your hands before putting your makeup on.
3. Every bit of makeup should be removed before going to bed. Mascara particles can make their way into your eyes causing irritation, bloodshot eyes, infections, or eye scratches.
4. Use aerosols with utmost caution. More dangers lurk within the cosmetic canister. Never use aerosol hairsprays and deodorants near heat, fire or naked flame. Aerosol sprays are not good for the inner organs, if particular gases are deeply inhaled into the lungs you can expect serious consequences as result from this.
Step by step guide to stay safe while wanting to look beautiful.
-
Do not apply makeup while in motion.
-
Never share makeup. Borrowed cosmetics normally come with germs
-
Keep makeup containers closed tight. Contents can harden and evaporate.
-
Store all makeup items in a cool place. Light and heat kill the preservatives that help fight bacteria. Melted lipstick is messy business.
-
Avoid wearing eye cosmetics if you have an eye infection.
-
Never make up your own cosmetic concoctions unless you have had expert advice.
-
If you see a color change in any of your beauty products or detect a smell then discard the item.
Be wary about permanent eyelash tints and kohl that have not been approved. Kids are curious and maybe tempted to slap on the makeup. Keep all cosmetics out children`s reach as kohl can cause lead poisoning.
Most accidents and problems rise through not knowing what is included in cosmetics and their purpose. Having knowledge on beauty products will help you prevent becoming a victim of your own judgment concerning the products you thought best for you at the time. Most mishaps concerning treatments go wrong through negligence.
Makers of hypoallergenic cosmetics claim they cause less allergic reactions than other beauty products. Take care as there is no national standard for using the term hypoallergenic. Although we rely upon natural ingredients for many beauty quests you still need to be careful because even natural ingredients can cause allergic reactions.
Particular skin and hair care products can cause the skin to react bringing acne. To help avoid this happening use a gentle unscented soap/cleanser twice daily for bathing the skin. Choose "non-comedogenic" makeup and hair care products to stop the pores from clogging up.
What would we women do without our night/day skin creams? What would we women do if we you knew they were dangerous. In most beauty creams you will find they contain alpha hydroxy acids which originate from fruit and milk sugars. Creams containing alpha hydroxy acids supposedly claim to reduce wrinkles, spots, sun-damaged skin, and other signs of aging. This is good news but how safe are they really to use on the skin.
FDA past complaints brought to light on the matter these symptoms below:
- Harsh redness
- Swelling
- Swollen eye skin
- Burning
- Blisters
- Bleeding
- Rash
- Itchiness
- skin discoloration
- Irritation
Check the content of your cream by looking on the label of the tub, jar or tube. Also look for the names glycolic acid and lactic acid which they are also known under. Some people feel no reason to change their products containing AHAs, however it is best to protect your skin because as we age the skin does to. Each day skin texture can change dramatcally beacuse of many things, so the face cream that was accepted by your skin yesterday might not be today. Use a sunscreen with a SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 15 as well as a wearing a wide brimmed hat for protection from the sun.
Changing hair color for some women is an absolute must, they say a new color a new you.
Some scientific research linked hair dyes with a higher risk of particular cancers, while other research debated this. What are women supposed to do in this dilemma? With no definite answer should women color their hair or not. Looking at the number of hair colorants purchased daily around the world tells us that women regardless of danger continue to shade their hair a different color.
Most hair dyes do not have to undergo a safety testing process unlike other beauty products that contain color additives. Initial hair dyes main ingredient in coal-tar hair dye caused allergic reactions in some people. But today hair dyes are formulated from petroleum sources. But FDA still believes them to be coal-tar dyes. Better to be safe than sorry. Color your hair less and treat it instead to give it life and a healthy bounce.
Tips
-
Wash hair color out at suggested time.
-
Rinse scalp thoroughly.
-
Do not mix hair dye products.
-
Do a patch test for allergic reactions
-
Do not dye eyebrows/eyelashes/moustaches.
Beauty is skin deep. How deep do you have to go to have it surface. Does it have to surface because it`s fact that beauty is within. Beauty is about overall health and if you have this, that beauty will surface without cosmetics.
