What makes me laugh about wedding planning, or should I say cry, is every bride-to-be wants the perfect wedding and for everything to run smoothly on the day without any last minute hiccups. And yet when they begin organizing and making arrangements they fail to notice the little things that could ruin the big day. It is pretty obvious that some people are not clued up with what is involved when putting together their wedding plans. Wedding planning should include you having what you want and need for on the day - and not what you don't want and need on the day.
Wedding talk between the betrothed
- Make a joint decision on how much you are going to spend on the wedding; Problem – Can you afford the cost you have allocated for the occasion. Going into marriage with debt is not good
- Come to an agreement on who to invite; Problem – Don't invite an ex partner still bearing a grudge. Also consider the loud mouth drunk
- How much you expect your families to contribute. Problem – Foot the bill yourselves. Arguments can rise and give cause for fisty-cuffs between families over who gave what
Wedding planning will include making arrangements like ordering the wedding cake, hiring of the wedding cars, having a fitting for your wedding dress, what songs for the wedding service to be sung or played, or which way to wear your hair. There is also the venue hall, wedding flowers, the church and much more that you should have jotted down on wedding-to-do-list.
Things you need to do to avoid any last minute hiccups on your wedding day
- Make sure your both agreeable on what type of wedding service to have (a religious ceremony or a civil one.)
- If you're both agreed on a civil wedding, do you want the service to take place in a register office or a licensed venue?
- If your choice is a licensed venue, then which one
- Contact the right people for organizing the wedding ceremony
- Check all legal requirements for your type of wedding ceremony are in order
Tips for the perfect wedding!
Planning a wedding can be tiring and time consuming so make allowances for this. Don't try to organize any wedding details when you're feeling sleepy your heart won't be in it.
- Relax and don't panic. Keep calm cool and collective. If you're becoming agitated from all the running around or whatever then stop, you are not helping the situation. Panic can bring trouble.
- You need a checklist to see where you`re up to with your wedding plans.
- Choose a venue hall that can accommodate your needs and requirements. Some wedding venues have strict finishing times and structure as to how the event runs. Check this out if you're wedding guests want to party all night. Make sure the venue hall is of appropriate size for all them with a wedding invitation.
- You are not to worry over to have as your bridesmaids. You can't please everyone. You mustn't at any time feel obliged to ask a family member to be a flower girl just because they are family.
- If the date for your wedding is far off have a seamstress on standby for fear of weight gain or weight loss and you can't fit into your dress.
- Make sure the chauffeur is informed of the wedding location.
- Double check the flowers you ordered are all there and the species you chose
- Have headache tablets or tummy upset medicine on standby, nerves can affect people in funny ways which at the time might not be seen as a laughing matter
- Have an umbrella readily to hand
- Avoid walking over a grid for fear the heel of your shoe gets stuck
- Have your hairstylist practice different hairstyles before the wedding day so you can settle on a particular style.
- Avoid drinking and eating once the wedding gown is on
- Plan your speech in advance giving you time to add or remove comments.
The perfect wedding comes from good planning. How good have you planned yours?
