Beauty tips for teens - What makeup is considered best for teens? Not wanting to sound a prude or you think I be old fashioned but the natural look is best, however not forgetting I was once a teen myself tells me regardless of my opinion or advice on teen makeup you will still slap on the war paint. Can I say to the stubborn teen with heels dug into the ground who "think" their beauty is a result of using cosmetics, is to at least have a re-think on the way you apply your makeup, and by doing this we can make beautiful into drop dead gorgeous. Teens today have a mind of their own and can be really obnoxious at times, and don't we moms know it, but for the teen ready to let down their guard and prick those ears then good advice comes from them in the know.
Beauty tips for teens
1. If you like most teens suffer from acne (spots pimples and boils) then do you're self a favor and don't wear foundation. This is a big mistake made by teens. Slathering thick foundation over spots and pimples even scabs as a cover up is a bad idea; in fact it makes acne appear even uglier. Foundation is more suited to the mature woman over 30. Not only does foundation conceal natural beauty, it puts years on the youth's face and looks anything but natural. A lovely complexion appears as young looking and fresh so keep it that way. If the need to cover up is important to you then use concealer and face powder or tinted moisturizer. Tinted moisturizers tend to be lighter than heavy foundations.
2. Concealer must never be rubbed on the skin as this motion can be damaging. Yet another common mistake made by many teens. Your skin feels pressurized by doing this. What happens as a result of pressure is stress? When the skin becomes stressed it will never look good. Concealer should be applied with gentle patting. Put a little amount on the pad of your middle finger and pat onto the skin. Teens are busy people and tend to rush well "don't" because it can prove to be expensive and time consuming if you have to reapply make up after smudging or poking you're self in the eye with the mascara wand.
3. Don't make the mistake of highlighting the lips and eyes at the same time. If attention is to be drawn then let it be to one or the other. If you like heavy eye makeup, go for nude lips with a light coat of lip gloss. Is it the dramatic look for the lips you like (dark lipstick) if so keep the face light and avoid deep rouge? Wear mascara only on your eyes and a light pastel eye shadow. Some teenagers tend to line their lips in a darker color than their gloss or lipstick, this is wrong. If you think it looks good then ask a friend. A real friend will tell you the truth.
4. Too much slap creates a false image of the true you, and also false is not nice - less is best. There is absolutely no need for foundation, powder, blush, liner, mascara, eye shadow, lip liner and gloss during the day. Wearing the same makeup you wear during the day spoils all the fun and excitement for when getting ready for an evening out. Tone it down: All you need is mascara, concealer and lip gloss.
5. It is imperative that the hair is healthy. If your hair is shiny and full of bounce then makeup really isn't necessary your hair will do the talking. When it comes to hair teenagers love to experiment, in a way this is a good thing, however serious complications can rise if you don't know what you are doing. The best advice for any teenager wanting the latest trendy hairstyle, having it dyed or just a trim should be done by a qualified hair stylist. An expert can tell what hairstyle or color is best suited to your skin type and face shape. Hair tips: Long layers suit any hair type: Curly, straight or wavy. It gives fine hair the look of fullness. Avoid too many layers cut in. If you have a problem with oily/greasy hair like most teens do then use a dry shampoo. If you have fair hair try rubbing into the roots baby powder to soak up surplus oils.
6. Pocket money isn't much these days what with the recession so you should be looking to make those pennies go further. Vaseline is a fabulous inexpensive, eye makeup remover. It has great qualities acting as a lip balm and good for chapped lips.
7. When it comes to health age doesn't come into the equation. Whether your man woman or teen you must test all cosmetic items before they come in contact with your skin or hair.
8. It is good for the skin if you apply sunscreen every day - whether it's sunny or not. Sun beds and sun lamps you need to toss aside. There are more teen girls and teen boys walking round with skin like a dried prune looking older than their years because of their obsession with tanning booths. Both sun and sun beds can pose serious risks to your health.
9. You will find it easy to maintain fingernails if their kept at manageable length. Use clear nail varnish if money is tight because if clear nail polish chips it is not as noticeable as bright red, orange or purple that would need a new coat. Keep fingernails neat and tidy because more times than not it is things like this that people tend to notice.
10. If you think you have piggy eyes then avoid lining the inside of them as this only has them appear smaller. Instead, line just at the lash line.
Beauty tips for teens and beauty products go on and on so it might be best sticking to cosmetics your familiar with so you're not splashing out on new makeup items that your not happy with their results. This is an expensive route to go.
11. The key to looking beautiful is to accentuate your best facial feature. Let us say it is your lips then of course you go to work on them. If your lips pout then by wearing gloss and bold lipstick colors will have them look more pouted, luscious and kissable. If it is the eyes play them up with mascara. Mascara comes in various colors so mix and match to your desired fashion
12. Aside from every teen's nightmare "acne" if you suffer from dry, itchy skin in the cold months use a scrub to treat. Make sure to moisturize the skin after using the scrub.
13. Beauty comes from within, it is internal, and no matter how much the skin is caked in foundation, the eyes layered with eye shadow and the lips thickly coated with lipstick, it is not true beauty. Natural beauty is beautiful use less to impress.
Final beauty tip for teens: Is to be "happy" and "confident" and like "everything" about you're self. If you have all these along with a smile then HEY GIRL you got it all.
