Cancer - Move aside Bugs Bunny we want your carrots. I remember when growing up being told that eating carrots was great for your eyesight. On questioning this, the answer given would always be "When have you ever seen a rabbit wearing glasses." Of course no more was said on the matter because I was now on a mission to hunt down a rabbit wearing glasses to prove mom wrong. I and a few friends would run along to the "nearest field" in search of bunny hopping rabbits because we weren't allowed to go far. Thinking back on mom's endorsed restriction on how far I could venture, had me think was she worried I may just find a rabbit wearing specs in the next field. Every day we have some new finding or vital evidence brought to light that can help cancer patients. And today is no different "CARROTS."
Boil carrots whole and you lock in all the goodness and nutrients and more importantly the taste - that we lose with lots of other vegetables also.
Specific cases involving rats fed on a diet consisting of carrots or falcarinol were found to be one-third less likely to develop full-scale tumors than those in the control group. Recent scientific developments showed when carrots are heated; the heat kills the cells, resulting in losing the ability to retain the water inside thus increasing the concentration of falcarinol as the carrots lose water. Heat also softens the cell walls, permitting water-soluble compounds such as sugar and vitamin C to be lost through the surface of the tissue leading to the leakage of other compounds such as falcarinol.
As with all experiments whether in relation to cancer research or other - we have them in denial that then oppose or question new findings like that of Dr Kat Arney of the charity Cancer Research UK, remaining unconvinced that keeping carrots whole would have any impact on cancer risk. It's all about eating a healthy balanced diet - rich in a range of fruit and vegetables that is the vital element people need to introduce in their lives to help reduce the risks of many types of cancer, rather than any one specific food" she remarked. Debate, discussion or argument whatever you like to call it, is a critical matter we need in medical research When we see experts who work in unison but have issues with another's findings, it shows investigation is underway for our safety. At least we get peace of mind from knowing any new developments/projects are, and always will be under scrutiny before they get the green light.
The difficult thing is, what do you do when you have two top leading doctors/researchers at each other's throats who fail to agree on proposed suggestions made by each otherwho do you believe. You the sufferer can only make a personal judgment on who you think is right or wrong, but as for making a decision on the best option are out of your hands because you haven't got a clue, and therefore left in the hands of those who bicker. It's a catch 22 situation.
To cover every cancer risk in this article would prove to be difficult, however if you would like to know more then go online and visit a medical site that deals with all types of cancer issues for the information you need.
A major risk for cancer is something that the vast majority of the population around the world do and enjoy only unaware to most of them. This particular risk derives from eating red meat. The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) advocates a maximum of no more than 17.6 oz of cooked red meat a week per person A survey found less than a third of people residing in the United Kingdom were aware of the cancer risk of eating large amounts of red and processed meats but continued to indulge. Study has in the past produced evidence of a link between bowel cancer and heavy concentrations of certain types of meat in the diet. A survey carried out involving 2,200 people in the UK found that two thirds were "unaware" of these findings.
Another worrying cancer is colon cancer and to help avoid risks of this type developing is to eat fish or poultry instead of red meat.
Study showed that eating around 6 ounces of red and processed meat daily increased colon cancer risk by 35% in comparison to the smaller portion of 1 ounce a day. Red meat included beef, pork, veal, and lamb, and processed meats included sausages, ham, bacon, and cold cuts. Tests results involving fish consumption came back with eating about 3 ounces of fish daily cut colon cancer odds by 31%. White meats like chicken and turkey had no effect on colon cancer.
Possible causes given were connected to how meats were cooked: Cooking red meat, especially well-done, creates carcinogens called heterocyclic amines. But the omega-3 fatty acids in fish, such as salmon and sardines, have anti-cancer activity. You should consult with your GP about the red meat issue. It is the doctor that will have the information you seek to stay healthy and well.
For overall health you need to eat good nutritious foods and keep the body in shape, and what better way than to join a gym if your health permits.
Men just like women fear the big C so it is good for both genders to work out regular.
Are you aware that men with stronger muscles from regular weight training are up to 40% less likely to die from cancer than men who do not pump iron? It is said muscular strength is as just as vital as it is in keeping your weight down to protect the body against deadly tumors and other. Facts show that men should weight train at least twice a week, exercising muscle groups in both the upper and lower body. Once again your GP is the person to speak to regarding keeping the body in shape. Medical experts have all the answers on how to prevent cancers and what risks you need to avoid because after all, on a wide scale, and daily basis they treat cancer patients like there was no tomorrow and sadly for some there is no tomorrow
I am sure you're aware that aerobic exercise such as jogging or cycling can help reduce the risk of the disease, but you should try to include a way to build up muscle strength also
Don't be thinking you have to work out to achieve a physique like the "HULK." Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise five times a week that leaves you warm and slightly out of breath can have a positive effect." Having a positive approach towards the way you go about, or with what method you might practice to avoid the risks of cancer, will hopefully if you wait on cancer test results prove to be negative and not positive.
