Where the money goes - Monies raised for children in need make a major difference to how kids will live their lives from this day on.

Thousands of disadvantaged children and young people across the United Kingdom won't be seen as being disadvantaged as much if the money keeps rolling in.

What happens to the donations from the BBC Children in Need Fund? It is used as grants and awarded to voluntary projects.

Community groups and registered charities that offer practical and lasting support to children and young people get assistance from the fund: Children needing support maybe homeless, starving or deprived in some way or another, or maybe suffering from sicknesses, or from different types of child abuse in and outside the home. Your fund raising efforts will help children with learning, sensory or physical disabilities, or behavioral and psychological disorders.

I know of this girl who is only 13 years old and lives with her Mon and her younger sister. At the age of 13, she has already finished writing her first book which she has already submitted to a publishing firm for publication. The young girl put in all her time writing her first book and just started writing her 2nd book hoping that her dream of having her first book published will become a reality. The little girl's dream has hit a big snag when she realized that the amount needed for such a book to be published is not a small amount as she had thought and her single mother can not afford to pay the amount the publisher requires upfront to have her book published. What options do such talented needy children have to enable them realize their dreams? Can such a talented child be covered under this program.

Hi Sam you seem a caring person. Its sad when something like this happens. You would think a publisher would show a little compassion in situations like this, however and sadly not all people are like you and me Sam. As for getting help I am not the best person to be asking as I am not clued up on matters of this nature. I can only but pray that your friend gets lucky and there is a publisher out there that thinks like us

Keep well and good luck to your friend
