Perfect Vagina (Warning) Women At Risk Having Labiaplasty Surgery - Vaginal Operation Condemned

Four days ago 11th November via a news bulletin a warning was given to women who were looking to have the perfect vagina. What a subject to bring to our attention, don't all women know where to get medical advice to make any vaginal corrections they want doing…so why the warning. That's just it; the warning is given duly because you do know where to go to get the perfect vagina. It's all well and good knowing who to approach for treatment but what's not good is the lack of information you do not have on labiaplasty surgery.

If the experts are in debate over the labiaplasty operation then it should give you good enough reason to prick your ears and listen to what is going on.

The warning is directed at women looking to have the perfect vagina and that she knows all there is to know about the operation. Women will go to great lengths to treat body parts their not happy with, including the vagina. Regardless of cost women tend to rush in, pay up front without asking them all important questions. Labiaplasty is an expensive process costing around £3,000 if you go private

The alert implied women undergoing surgery to create perfect genitalia amid a "shocking" lack of information on the potential risks of the procedure is high. Study printed in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology also questions the very idea of aesthetically pleasing genitals. Surgery to better the appearance of the sex organs for both psychological and physical reasons, are on the rise. But fighting back surgeons said the report overplayed the risks of an established procedure.

There were always going to be opinions on a matter of this nature, hence why debate goes on, and the warning given. It is good when you see them supposedly who know it all argue, because at least you know they have the woman's welfare in mind. Yeah but the worry is who is right, them that argue in favor of the cause, or those against.

If women choose to ignore asking them all important questions about the consequences if surgery goes wrong or about the operation in general, then the onus is on the surgeon to provide this information whether the woman wants to hear it or not before signing on the dotted line, if going private for labiaplasty.

Experts from University College London reviewed existing reports on cosmetic labial surgery which usually includes taking away the amount of tissue that overhangs from the lips which cover the vagina. The research crew allotted to do the review found there had been little work to document any longer-term side effects.

If you ask a woman why she wants the perfect vagina, most likely the answer you will receive is to "please a sexual partner?" This should not be the case; you need to be doing this for you. Are the risks involved with labiaplasty surgery worth it to put a smile on your partners face, and knock the one off yours because you live with regret?

It's a catch 22 situation, what is a woman to do when those in the know condemn the findings done in research by those also in the know.

Gynecologist Sarah Creighton and psychologist Lih-Mei Liao are a couple to mention who stood up and challenged the morals of offering women surgery to address such insecurities, (wanting to please someone else or other similar reasons) suggesting it was adverts for a "homogenised, pre-pubescent genital appearance" which created these anxieties in the first place. Good point girls but try telling that to them that disagree. The pair weren't finished yet, and went on to add that any pain apparently caused by protrusion may well have a psychological root - noting that male genitalia protrude far further without causing major uneasiness. In a nutshell what they are pointing out is that counseling and support is and can be affective before surgery is considered.

Female circumcision

The amount of women opting for labiaplasty surgery nationwide for vaginal correction can't be counted to give an exact figure, due to most operations performed privately. In the year 2008, procedures on the NHS rose by 70%.

Research going back as far as the fifties brought to light that dissatisfaction with the way the vagina looked was the main reason why women underwent surgery. The vast majority of patients who had the operation, for some reason had low self-esteem and sexual difficulties.

The damage that can occur from surgery usually causes problems later down the line for women wanting to have children. Experts against labiaplasty to create the perfect vagina, say difficulties in childbirth can happen because of female genital mutilation (parts of the vagina are ritualistically removed.) Frightening facts show those who have had circumcision surgery are most likely to experience considerable tearing and bleeding after labour and even the death of the newborn baby. Caesarean delivery could be suggested if surgery as such has been done. It's vital that research call for desperate measures and put out warnings, so women can look towards counseling to create the perfect vagina before going under the knife.

This whole indecisive thing calls for more research till everyone agrees it is safe."Labial surgery needs to be rigorously evaluated in future, and for longer term.

Douglas McGeorge, once president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, rejected the comparison with female circumcision, arguing it was a relatively a minor operation with few possible complications. It's all well and good for him to say this but it is not he who lies on the bed with his feet strapped in stirrups. I go with the above anti girls, gynecologist Sarah Creighton and psychologist Lih-Mei Liao on this.

'Douglas McGeorge " Essentially this is just about taking away little surplus flesh, leaving behind neat-looking labia with minimum scarring. The procedure won't interfere with sexual function. How could you ever possibly know Dougie unless you're not telling us something?

A top leading cosmetic surgeon (female) who carries out labiaplasty surgery for a living said it was wrong to "panic patients" with hints of long-term consequences. I would be shocked to be honest if she were to say anything different, I mean after all her line of work includes her creating perfect vagina's. Her work (performing vaginal operations) puts a crust on the table so therefore every reason to defend her livelihood no matter the cost.

She stated "This is a procedure which we have been doing since the 1970s. Any operation performed poorly carries risks, but when it's done properly there are very few issues at all.  Does "very few issues" you mention not something for women to worry over then…just one issue is bad enough. Women who want the prefect vagina for appearance reasons need to be quizzed thoroughly and enlightened on surgery not being the safest option. If you have vaginal problems then opt for any alternatives available, other than a visit to a hospital.  Of course if surgery is considered because of the more serious, like having hypertrophy which is when the tissue is dark and hangs down then labiaplasty is something seen as necessary. But if not necessary, then it's not necessary.

"Reliable data on the perils and benefits of labial surgery, as well as alternative approaches, is essential to guarantee informed choice for the female wanting the perfect vagina."

Hey girls there will never be the perfect woman let alone the perfect vagina. There is always going to be them flaws we don't like, but it's not the "end of the world"…so why not settle for good health, because without good health it can give cause for you leaving this world.

Kacycarr,

Well, you got me with this one.   I never knew there was such a thing and I am stunned!   (Had to read it twice because I didn't want to believe it.)

Why a woman would consider this type of procedure is beyond my understanding.   And, to think there are doctors who are willing or who specialize in this leaves me speechless.  If a woman is doing this for 'her man,' then she has obviously chosen the wrong guy!

Hi Nancy and thanks for dropping by to comment. 70% tells us there is a lot of women out there who know more than us, and I wouldn't be surprised if that 70% chose the wrong guy like you point out

Keep safe

I have been very happily married to the same woman for almost twenty years and I would definitely not want her to receive labiaplasty. A woman's inner labia are absolutely beautiful- visually and sexually. The spreading of the inner labia resembles a beautiful orchid, especially when engorged during foreplay. Why anyone would want to cut off such beauty is incomprehensible to me.

For god's sake, stop criticising women who undergo such procedure. It is a personal choice, you, Al, see it as a 'beautiful orchid', I see it as wrinkly flaps hanging down. I have been upset by them my whole life.
