Did laryngitis kill Brittany Murphy? According to her husband Simon Monjack Brittany had been ill and suffering from laryngitis in the lead up to her death at the age of 32. Hearsay has it Brittany Murphy died from heart attack but this is yet to be confirmed. The definite cause of her death to be known could take up to 4 to 6 weeks when the results of the toxicology and tissue tests come back after an autopsy was carried out.

Simon Monjack is grieving sorely over the loss of his Hollywood actress wife. He had mentioned during talks that Brittany Murphy had "been tired a lot lately". The coroner involved since her passing (Ed Winter,) confirmed Murphy's family had reported she had been ill in the run-up to her death and that they were not considering foul play surrounding her death, "It appears to be a natural cause for her passing, because the autopsy found no signs of trauma to her body, he said.

In a family statement it said the "loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star."  Her dad Angelo Bertolotti said: "She was just an absolute doll since she was born. Brittany Murphy was found collapsed and unconscious in the shower of her Los Angeles home she shared with Monjack. She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead a couple of hours after she had been admitted.

The US actress, best known for acting parts in clueless and 8 Mile, will be sadly missed by her family friends and fans of the actress. Actor Ashton Kutcher, who played opposite Brittany in 2003's Just Married, and later known to be acquainted as a couple, paid tribute on Twitter: "See you on the other side kid... 2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine."My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, and her amazing mother Sharon," he added.  Alicia Silverstone, who starred with Murphy in high school comedy Clueless, said she loved every minute working with Brittany Murphy. She was talented, warm and so sweet.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. No doubt being such a loved person will have many people worldwide in mourning over the death of Brittany Murphy.

What is Laryngitis? It is an inflammation of the voice box (larynx) Located in the larynx are the vocal cords - two folds of mucous membrane covering muscle and cartilage.

But persistent hoarseness where the voice shows no sign of returning can sometimes be a warning of a more serious underlying medical condition.

Laryngitis is not a known condition that's life threatening.  Having said laryngitis isn't fatal, the symptoms linked with it signaling an underlying problem could be.
