Cheap kids summer holidays abroad. Everyone likes to see their kids enjoy themselves on the beach, fully creamed up from head to toe in sun cream building sand castles and paddling in the sea " EVERY DAY" throughout the duration of their vacation.

Sadly, when the money dwindles away a lot of holiday makers are quarantined back at the hotel because their pocket says they have too. If you haven't planned your budget carefully then expect disappointment. The budget needs to stretch so the kids can play to their hearts content right up until it's time for the airport.

Can you hear yourself say to the children if they ask for an ice cream on the beach to wait until you get back to the hotel because you're on an all inclusive holiday, where food drinks and ice cream is included in the price of the holiday? God damn it, the kids want their ice-cream now.

If you went online to get a cheap holiday for the family, then with what you saved booking a holiday this way will add more to your spends. The biggest mistake people make is they go mad the first few days of the holiday spending money like there was tomorrow. Most that go on a spending spree are left scrimping and scraping looking for money to get them over tomorrow.

Travel Tips for your cheap summer holiday

1. Work out how much you have to spend and allot a certain amount for each day to spend.

2. Today luggage allowance has drastically been restricted; nonetheless you have to make room in your suitcase for sun cream and shampoo. These products are sold at extortionate prices in tourist spots.

3. If you pass a souvenir shop and something takes your eye, do not buy. Buy souvenirs on the last day if you have money spare to buy the fridge magnet saying "welcome to Benidorm" or "Sunny Florida.".

4. If dad wants to treat mom on holiday don't buy a single rose from Gypsies, you could buy a bunch for what they charge. Instead go for a stroll and pick her a flower or a piece of fruit. In some countries you have to dodge hanging oranges on orange trees that line the roads. Make sure you're allowed to pick them first.

5. If the kids want to visit a water park or other holiday attraction, let them. If it costs more than your daily allowance then use the next day's spending money for the beach, and instead have a fun day round the pool.

6. Don't buy big floppy hats while abroad, pack caps with a peak; they don't take up much space in your bag. Make it exciting for the kids and let them choose a holiday perk to have printed onto the cap before they travel. (Not their name as a safety precaution.)

7. Resist the urge to spend money on unnecessary trinkets. Most goods bought abroad are left behind because there's no room in the suitcase. If you do pack extra your luggage might be denied going into the hold because it's over the allowed quota.

8. If you plan to do day trips or go sightseeing take a bus/tram it's cheaper than taxis. Kids have more fun on the bus/ tram over a taxi because they take you straight to your destination, whereas the bus route may include bringing you up and down a maze of roads to get to your designated spot.

9. If dining out look for restaurants/cafes that do happy meals for kids, or where kids can eat free. If food portions are large have the kids share a meal instead of food being wasted saving you money. In some eateries, and especially those in Florida drinks come in huge cartons. Buy one drink between two, it's not being stingy its being sensible, so why waste.

10. Don't pack more than you need. Having to carry a heavy case/s while looking after kids can cause you stress, and who falls victim, yes the kids, and it's not their fault, they are going on holiday and excited so let them have fun, and lighten the suitcase.

11. Excursions and day trips are best arranged by tourist attraction booths than the hotel. Hotel bookings are expensive. Nonetheless make sure you book with a reputable source. Shop around and barter.

12. If you want to ring home don't use the telephone in the room. It's cheaper to buy a phone card and use a public phone to tell everyone you're having a fabulous time. Don't let the kids play with the phone in case they run up an accidental bill.

13. If kids want chocolate keep it in the fridge and give it to them in the cool of the evening. Giving them chocolate on the beach is a waste of money because it melts before they have chance to get it in their mouth. And, it's the mess if you have no wet wipes with you. Oh yes I forgot there's the sea where kids wee, and wash in.

14. Pack a mini compendium of games, or cards or bingo to play in the room should the weather turn and rains.

15. If you like beer, drink their brand and not imported bottles because this will take a huge cut of your budget. Also buying Sangria in a jug or other is less expensive than buying bottles of wine.

16. If there's a baby travelling, line the bottom of the suitcase with disposable nappies and fold holiday clothes on top.

17. Check which exchange bureau is giving the best rate for your money. Sometimes it's best to cash a large sum so you're only charged one commission for the transaction. Changing money 3 to 4 times will incur 3 lots of charges. Some exchange bureaus don't take a commission so shop around. Read the small print so you're not conned. Never change money with vendors on the streets.

18. Never walk through darkened alleyways late of a night or in unfamiliar territories. Don't be taken in by con men selling watches and bling jewellery, or those who ask you to guess which cup the pea is under. These people are professional pickpockets

19. To hold on to your money keep it in a bum bag.

20. Hire a safe in your room for valuables

21. Don't be tempted to have a tattoo done abroad no matter how pretty the design because it costs less than in your hometown. It can prove to be costly in other ways if it goes wrong.

22. Get your partner to give you a massage it's cheaper than paying out for a massage on the beach

23. Don't spend money getting your nails done on holiday, save it. Pack a bottle of nail polish it won't take up much room...

24. If you have planned a day out walking carry mineral water and fruit

25. In the supermarket by a big candy bag of assorted sweets, fruity chews, lollipops, liquorice twists and keep, them in the room in case the kids need a treat. In some foreign countries you might pay triple the price of a bar of chocolate that you're accustomed to paying.

We all remember the case of Madeleine McCann all too well who only 3 years old when went missing (kidnapped) on holiday in Portugal. It's sad to use a missing child to make people aware about safety for kids on holiday, but if it saves another child from abduction then it will not be in vain

26. Don't leave kids alone in the hotel

27. Don't let kids play on the balcony and move patio chairs/ table away from railings.

28. When your out and about pin a name tag to the inside of your Childs clothes and details of the hotel where you're staying, in case they get lost. The name tag is not to be pinned on view.

29.
Don't leave children alone on the beach while you nip to the loo

30. Don't allow the kids to go to the swimming pool without you

31. Don't let children pet stray dogs and cats

32. Don't let the kids drink from the tap in your room

33. Drivers abroad are mad on the roads so be careful and cross on a pedestrian crossing, and then still be careful

You can only ever have fun on holiday with peace of mind so stay safe and take out holiday insurance

Great funny jokes to keep the kid amused
