How to teach small children. How important is it to have an education. Today, the person that comes forward to question this tells me it is them that may be in need of educating. Of course education is important, without it you aren't going far. If you want to get on in this world, get a decent job, run a business, achieve your goals, or want to live a comfortable life then its more than just important, it's vitally important.

Times have dramatically changed from yesterday's requirements to get a good job and in the way you teach children. In the olden days we kids went to school to learn what "little" there was to learn on the day, whereas in schools today there's so much to learn and take on board. Back then we were taught how to do sums and how to read and write our name, but business studies and learning a new language in case we travelled abroad was unheard of. In case we travelled, "HA," they're having a laugh; we couldn't afford to do that, we were lucky to get to see the next town if mum had enough money for the bus fare to take us along when going to buy cardboard to mend the holes in our shoes.

They were great days don't get me wrong, but on reaching school leaving age you were through them school doors like a shot. There was no time to think about the future when food had to be put on the table, even though you were only thirteen years old. Furthering your education was never talked about; the reason for this was because we never had the intelligence to see the importance of learning more sums and reading more books.

The only thinking we did was about how we could afford soap to clean the soot off our face and hands after coming up from the mines. Years ago you didn't need to show qualifications for digging coal, so you just walked into the job with no questions asked. The system today requires you to have an education if you want to get on in life, get a good job, pay the bills and keep the roof over your head.

Going back to the 70s/80s, people somehow managed. They lived comfortable lives, but that was it. People without a proper education knew no different and "plodded" on doing the same thing day in day out; however had they known what people know today things would have been so different for them plodders.

In this particular era folk got by without having to show paperwork to employers, but nowadays companies more or less demand to see grade papers. They want to see how many GSEs you might have passed or other. Without qualifications your chances are zilch of walking into the job you dreamed of doing.

How to teach and educate children

Getting a job/employment will include you hand over a CV/Resume detailing out all your educational qualifications to your possible future employer. If you haven't any listings of your worth written down, then it's not worth bothering putting your foot through the door. I believe you can't judge a man by a piece of paper, but it's the way the system works, and it's what's expected of people looking for work.

Tips on teaching a toddler to read and write and do sums

It's never too early for a child to learn. From the day a baby is born he/she is learning all the time. Small infants are picking up on sounds and recognizing shapes and colours even before learning how to walk and talk. Toddlers are quick learners, learning something new every day. You need to throw something educational in between this time of their learning. For example: the child is playing with coloured blocks, and  they have a blue brick in their hand, ask them to name or show you other blue items they can see around the room. Ask them to count how many blue items there are. You are helping your child a great deal by doing this. And the plus is it is fun also.

You must never push a toddler or lose your patience while teaching them. It won't be difficult to keep a toddlers attention if you include something they enjoy doing...into their lessons. They must never know they are being schooled because they will be out of there like a shot. Kids won't stick around if they know you want to teach them to do their sums and other. Little ones tend to stray and lose concentration quick, but if you make this time fun and exciting then they aren't going anywhere, trust me on this

Take advantage of their favourite toys and put them to good use. Learn them to count or learn colours with plastic goblin dolls or action man figures while you make up a story going along about the goblin dolls or action men.

Children love water so bath time is ideal for early learning on safety, Make up a story about different items in the bath room. Ask the toddler what they are and then point out why they shouldn't touch them. Tell them never to touch the hot tap and why. Your story should include the dangers of water if they can't swim. When telling them bed time stories have a little fun before they doze off. Have them count out how many stars they see on the curtains or other. Ask them to tell you a story about the theme on their bed cover etc.

Is it right for parents to worry over an early education for their toddler? No it's not right to worry, however it is something that should be considered, it will help the child to adapt to school life when it's time for them to go, or prepare them for nursery.

Teach your children with the help of fairy tale books and educational activities. You don't have to deny your toddler their childhood because early learning can be fun.

Stop worrying over educating your toddler while so young. It's not like you are going to sit the child down at a desk and make them stay their till 9 to 3. A great way to start teaching an infant is with educational toys, educational board games, talking dollies and books. You can get early learning books and educational games and other fun activities that will teach your children while they play online or in toy stores. Fun activities are created for every age group, they may include building blocks with numbers and the alphabet printed on them for toddlers and educational quizzes for older kids and more.

The days of the abacus are gone... oh no they are not. Toddlers love the abacus and can learn from them so buy one. Encourage the kids to learn by involving yourself more in their lessons. Become a mad teacher, be a funny mom/dad while you teach, they will love this and won't want the lesson to end. Get this right and there's every possibility the child will mither you to play more, only unbeknown to them you are teaching them what they need to know?

When is the right time to teach a child? When they are ready they'll let you know.

Help your child and introduce them to online education. You can keep a watchful eye over them, and if you are one of those people denied an education in the olden days then even you can learn some more. It's never too late.

It's such an enjoyable lesson. Next time I am handling a toddler I would be more patient.

Thank you Efoghor for your comment. You say - Next time I am handling a toddler I would be more patient. You are also going to need to be patient when they are a lot older too (lol)
