Although pregnancy brings many changes throughout the nine months, it can take just as long for your body to get back to normal. Nonetheless you can speed up the process of getting back in shape after giving birth by doing certain things. You still have to be as careful with your body after having a baby, as you would the same while pregnant. Just because the belly has gone down doesn't mean you should rush out and do things not deemed sensible in case of complications. Your body is just as much vulnerable without child, as it is with.

If you want to lose weight after pregnancy then it should be done under the guidance of a medical expert or an expert dietician because dieting is not recommended at such an early time when your body is recovering. You can do a lot of damage by rushing into these things. Take your time and enjoy watching the weight drop off and watch your body get back in shape with exercise.

If you were unfortunate to have gained a considerable amount of weight while carry your baby then it's understandable for you wanting to lose weight fast after being fat for what may have seemed a life time. Some women are lucky and leave their weight behind in the hospital, and in some cases of a non stop crying baby I bet they wish they left them there too (just joking.).

Let us look at ways how to lose your pregnancy fat and get back in shape

Let your body heal first as it will make things a lot easier, It has to be 100% to avoid pain. Whether it was a vaginal or c-section birth the body needs to recover. Remember to take things slow because you still have a small baby to care for, and this alone can put pressure on even the strongest of women who haven't given birth.

Before taking up exercise ask for the okay from your doctor first. Your health is your main priority so make sure you do this. Figure out the logistics of exercise. Everyone is different and leads dissimilar lifestyles, like you being a stay at home mom, a working mother or there are other kids in the family. Work out a plan that bests suit you and you're circumstances.

Lose pregnancy weight and get back in shape tips

If possible allow yourself 30 minutes a day to practice some form of exercise. If you exercise daily it's likely for the first few days to feel tired but after time it actually gives you more energy. Exercise can include the treadmill, jogging, walking, swimming, or DVD workouts etc, you get to choose.

Find time for toning the body as well. Burning off the fat is made easier by building muscle mass. Your workout doesn't have to be strenuous. Some women think if they push hard at it the quicker the weight will drop off, well it doesn't so slow down to stay safe and protect yourself from doing yourself an injury. Start with 25 push ups and sit ups. Then tack on 5-10 more a week, working your way up to a number your comfortable with. Never go over the top.

If you prefer join a yoga class or toning class to help you get fit and in shape again after pregnancy.

Because you want to lose weight then it makes sense to watch what you eat, other than go without food. When you are pregnant you are encouraged to indulge because you are eating for two, but you are not pregnant now, so watch how much you eat. The good thing about eating during pregnancy is that you learn about nutrition and aware of what you put into your body. But once the baby has been delivered all this good information goes out of the window. Keep to healthy eating of fresh foods without hydrogenated soybeans or refined sugar. Cut the portions you eat in half so you can eventually burn more calories than you eat.

If you have found an exercise routine your happy to follow then start slowly and increase your intensity as you go along. Remember you haven't long given birth and if you go flat out too soon your vaginal flow (lochia) may increase or turn pink.

If you're a breastfeeding mom, then avoid exercising if the breasts are full. Clothing is important when doing exercises. Make sure you are comfortable and wear a sports bra over your nursing bra. The breasts are tender at this time so be careful not to knock them because you will know about it if you do. The boobs will feel heavy and weighted so take heed about supporting them with a decent bra to give them the proper support so they don't bounce all over the show.

Although it's vital to watch what you eat, ideally it's not a good time to go on a diet to lose weight because milk production is greatly dependent of nutrients in the first critical months of breastfeeding your baby. If the woman doesn't get enough nutritional foods it can cause fatigue, and this she can ill afford to be feeling with an infant to look after

Because at this stage the body is still recovering from the trauma of giving birth it is important to eat a well balanced diet in order to take in the necessary nutrients to speed up body healing.

New moms should choose foods that contain vitamins and minerals.

If you are a new mom and not sure what comes with raising a small baby then all the advice above you may not need. Weight loss will happen naturally when caring for an infant. You will learn that from all the running around to tend to their needs is the best form of exercise you could ever dream is possible to see the weight drop off.
