Roger Federer wins Grand Slam Title in Australian Tournament. Andy Murray fans saw him brought to his knees in Grand slam final. Roger Federer takes the tennis title after a fabulous performance against Murray. Although towards the end of the match Murray gave it his all, causing Federer to up his game.
Murray lost to world number one Roger Federer at the Australian Open final in Melbourne by three straight sets "ouch." It's an achievement just getting this far so Murray in the eyes of all his fans will always be their number 1 hero on the court.
The 22-year-old was bidding to become the first Briton for 74 years and the first Scot to win a Grand Slam final, but today that bid failed. You know what's great about this year, is that another will follow, so who knows what will happen.
Murray struggled to gain an advantage over Federer and lost 6-3, 6-4, and 7-6. The win gave Federer his 16th Grand Slam title. Is there any beating this bloke? Although I was rooting for Murray, I am not taking it away from Federer for his deserving recognitions for both past and present achievements. One day this will end for Federer, whether someone beats him to take the title, or he takes the towel he uses to wipe his sweaty brow from his neck and throws the towel in.
The match ended after a tense third set tie break which Federer won 13-11.
Fans were watching the final across the country and crowds gathered at venues in Dunblane, Murray's home town. The Scots will still raise that dram of whiskey to toast the efforts that the young Scotsman put in.
Andy Murrays mum sat throughout the tennis match between her son Murray and Federer and did what all mums do, she screamed she shouted from where she sat egging him on, only Murray couldn't hear because he was too busy trying to topple the world champion Roger Federer, had he have heard her squeals of support would the score have been any different.
Congratulations to Federer for winning the grand slam title yet again and congratulations for Andy Murrays attempt at trying to prevent the trophy going to another.
