Take That - Mark Owen singer and dancer out of boy band "Take That" is in a rehab clinic after confessing about his battle with womanising and drink. This is one step in the right direction for Mark being cured. When a person can actually admit they have a problem then its half the battle won.
Unlike Mark Owen there are many failing and ailing talented pop stars and movies stars, which sadly can't see they have a problem and therefore don't think they should seek help. This is unfortunate because in a lot of cases of those in denial about having a drink or drugs problem it's just a matter of time. We have seen too many people pop their clogs all because they never believed.
A spokesman for Owen, 38, confirmed that the "Take That" member had been checked into a "private clinic" after a tumultuous week in which he apologised for sleeping with numerous other women behind his wife's back and also admitting to having a problem with alcohol.
Gary Barlow singer songwriter in the group who took the band to fame, I personally know as a good friend. Before reaching fame he would be in my company every weekend when out socialising. Although Mark Owen was always seen as the squeaky clean member of the group, so was Gary Barlow, however it's not Gary that's in the clinic at present. And If I am to be honest with what I know of Barlow he never will.
"Take That" had major success notching up hit singles one after the other, but then came the blow to all "Take That" fans that they were to split, Fans were left heartbroken after Robbie Williams announced he was leaving the boy band. Many years lapsed and Robbie became successful as a solo artist. This wasn't the end of "Take That" they bounced back on the music scene after years of being apart and made more hit records without Robbie Williams.
Mark Owen said he was "deeply sorry" for the "pain" he had caused to his wife and friends through his flings with as many as up to 10 women. This sounds pretty much like the Tiger Woods case only without the drink. Oh and not forgetting John Terry and Ashley Cole for doing the dirty behind his wife's back, Cheryl Cole. The list is endless.
Mark and his wife Emma have been together for five years but not even married for a year (October) before he came clean about his drink problem and affairs with other women. Mark and Emma have two children together.
A close source to the singer would not disclose which clinic Owen was being treated.
Mark branded himself "a prat", disclosing that he was seeing a therapist in a bid to "sort things out". Mark, doctors don't treat prats they treat patients so if you want to get better and save your relationship with wife Emma then stop acting like one.
Owen had discussed his drink problem with bandmates Gary Barlow, Jason Orange and Howard Donald looking for advice, and also had heart to heart talks with former Take That member Robbie Williams in a plea for help, who he himself has struggled with a drink and drug addiction. Mark said he had been a heavy cannabis user and still smoked the occasional joint and had a problem with alcohol.
It has also came to light that Take That member Howard Donald has also a lot of answering to do for some bad doings, however that's another story and a long one too.
Whatever you do Mark Own your not to do a Peter Barlow out of Coronation St and sign yourself out of rehab till you are 100% well and fit and back to your own "squeaky clean" self.
