England v Germany in 2010 World Cup Sunday June 27 th and I don't know whether to be happy, or scared. You heard right scared, well wouldn't you be if you were English and up against a strong football team like Germany.

Fans of both the teams are already arriving in their droves to the football stadium in Bloemfontein ahead of the England/Germany match. I can only say that most of these fans must be a glutton for punishment. There is going to be a lot of sweat dripping from everyone's brow throughout the ninety minutes of play, and I bet it's not brought about by the sweltering heat in Africa but more from being in a hot sweat caused by nerves.

Even England's very own Prime minister David Cameron has admitted that his nerves may get the better of him. In his own words he said "he was not sure he would be able to stand it." This goes for the both of us Davy boy.The Prime Minister is hoping to watch some of the match with his German opposite number Angela Merkel at the G8 summit in Canada.

England's World Cup clash with Germany will be an exciting game, while a worrying one too for both sides. Although an avid England supporter myself, I still say may the best team win on the day, however still living in hope that England be the better team on Sunday. I expect I am not alone in hoping that England take Germany out and win without putting us fans through the nail-biting tension of a penalty shoot-out.

Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrad, Wayne Rooney, Gareth Barry and James Milner are among the favourites to take spot-kicks if required on Sunday. And both Joe Cole and Jermaine Defoe, our hero from the last match when he scored the winning goal against Slovenia that got England through to the next stage of the World Cup, have both said they would be prepared to step up to the mark.

Defoe said the players had been "practising pretty intensely", adding: "Most of it is in the mind." Yeah well keep it in mind that if we are to have any chance of England winning the 2010 World cup then they have to beat Germany tomorrow.

In 1990 England were knocked out of the World Cup on penalties, and the team suffered the same fate at the 1996 European Championship - both times by Germany. Well that ain't going to happen in Africa. Our boys are ready to put an end to this by putting the "football boot" on the other foot

The thirty nine year old goalie David James said he has been doing his homework and added: "If it comes to penalties, hopefully we will be ready for them." I don't like the word "hopefully" James, I want to hear "that you'll stop every ball kicked by a German player from reaching the back of the net."

Police are preparing for "tension" between the two sets of supporters but played down the prospect of violence at the England v Germany match. Does this go for player James Milner too who is out for blood? Apparently Milner wants revenge against Germany. Is this what us England fans want to hear. "Damned right it is, only without the blood."

The Aston Villa midfielder played an integral part in England's Under-21 side that reached the final of the European Championships last summer. Milner and his team-players couldn't no matter how hard they tried to secure the trophy as they lost 4-0 to Germany.

What don't we fans want to see? We don't want to experience that heart-stopping tension of extra time and spot-kicks. If it does come to this then it proves both teams played a good game for it to come to this. "Good luck" England not that you'll need it, because you know you don't, it's us supporter that don't really know if you do, or if you don't We will have to wait and see

Who will win the England v Germany match? Now for that show of good sportsmanship "Best of luck to both teams."
