How can a lung cancer free person ever know what another is feeling or thinking after being told by their doctor, they have the disease. In fact any type of cancer having said that. Whether it is skin cancer, breast cancer, or prostate cancer, it’s all the same. One can only try and imagine how these people who through having an examination for another illness and ordered to have a chest xray, only to be then told they have lung cancer…cope with what they are told.

More often than not this type of cancer is found during a medical check up for another sickness requiring a chest xray. This is because the disease doesn’t always present “early” symptoms which would normally alert someone to something not being right, which would then prompt those to have their doctor investigate further.

Doctors rely on symptoms for making accurate determinations, but if there aren’t any - then it’s very likely that the doctor treating you for maybe something else is just as much shocked if the xray results reveal lung cancer has happened.

If you’re concerned about you’re health for whatever reason, don’t hesitate to seek medical attention. Cancer is a scary issue and you may not want to address the problem if this is you’re worry, but, ignoring the symptoms of lung cancer can have the issue turn even scarier. Time is important. If cancer has struck you can’t afford to be making assumptions. This isn’t the flu, so you’re not likely to die if your self diagnosis is wrong, but cancer, now that’s another matter.

Passing pain off in hope it’s linked with another sickness can result in losing valuable time…which you may not have. Some early cancers are effectively treated and cured.

Lung cancer symptoms:

Shortness of breath (running out of breath quickly,) cough, chest pain, or coughing up blood.

Smokers that develop a new cough need to be suspicious, as this also applies to former tobacco users. Something isn’t right if a cough won’t go away, or gets worse.

It’s not a good sign to cough up blood. Yes it’s a frightening symptom, but not one connected solely with lung cancer alone, so get it checked out to avoid unnecessary worry if cancer is not the cause. Hemoptysis (coughing up by blood) affects a lot of people with this disease, but not to panic, because spitting blood can also be a sign that something else is wrong that’s not quite so serious. .

Chest pain happens in about one-fourth of people with the lung disease. Chest pain is dull, aching, and ongoing.

Breathlessness is usually the outcome of blockage to the flow of air in part of the lung, collection of fluid around the lung (pleural effusion) or spread of tumor in the lungs.

Wheezing and hoarseness is a regular symptom for some. Possible cause is blockage or inflammation strongly linked to cancer of the lungs.

People who suffer from respiratory infections a lot, such like bronchitis or pneumonia would be carefully monitored by their GP who’ll keep check for cancer developing.

Symptoms of metastatic lung tumors depend on the area it’s sited and size of the tumor itself. Not a great percentage, however still a worrying amount, approx 30%-40% of lung cancer patients have symptoms of metastatic disease.

Does lung cancer stay with the lungs? Unfortunately no is the answer. Other organs can be seriously affected if the disease spreads. Often, and common areas are the liver, the adrenal glands, the bones, and brain.

Does metastatic lung cancer found in the liver cause symptoms? Not common, at least that is up until the time of prognosis. Likely the same answer for metastatic lung cancer in the adrenal glands.

Bone pain tells you lung cancer has metastasized to the bone. Bone pain areas include backbone (vertebrae), thighbones, and the ribs.

Lung cancer that’s reached the brain may have the patient suffer problems with vision. Weakness on one side of the body, and/or seizures are other symptoms if the disease has spread this far.

Is it true you can cure your own cancer? Yes apparently so. If you’re worried about lung cancer or other then you’ll likely want to know how this can be done.
